School shooting Florida

I hope so, for your sake. Otherwise it confirms "The Great Z"'s general claim.
Say what? The claim was "fact is that up until the 1970's no one cared about the second amendment - everyone considered it obsolete." The Great Z further explained "That is why no one went to the supreme Court when some cities banned all private guns within their limits." There can be many different reasons why nobody challenged cities prohibition for possession of firearms within their borders. You cannot accurately state that nobody cared because said laws were not challenged. My neighbor had a party last weekend that kept me awake into the early morning. I did not discuss their lack of courtesy nor did I file a legal action against them; I still cared about their disruptive behavior. There is a noise ordinance that I chose not to invoke; that does not imply that I believe that noise ordinance is obsolete.

After you requested references/documentation for these claims, the Great Z provided "In the entire 20th century there has been exactly one time (United States v. Miller 1939) where the Supreme Court dealt with a 2nd Amendment issue: " That statement is factually incorrect. The references I provided show that there were many legal cases, some of them even made it to the supreme court, in the 20th century. The Great Z's claims and cliff notes are not accurate.

Broward County Sheriff says from now onwards all deputies at schools will be carrying rifles and they may even be AR-15s. Previously they would have been carrying pistols.

This brings to mind another issue with the 'arm the teachers' nonsense. There are people asking why this resource officer didn't stop the shooter. Can you imagine the pain a teacher would feel if they failed to stop a shooter? Or shot another kid accidentally like the police sometimes do?

Or got shot by police because an armed teacher doesn't look any different than an assailant.

Excellent point.

One of the kids speaking out today said he thought SWAT came to rescue them but instead he was treated as if he was the shooter. You see all those kids running out with their hands on their heads and you have to wonder if that's really the best procedure. Are they going to shoot a kid who refuses? Or shoot one who mouths off to them?

I don't see any paper in his hand in any of the pictures or video of the meeting. I wonder if it isn't a set up, (CT I know ;) but there was a recent similar event the news media didn't take the bait) waiting for CNN or MSNBC to take the bait and then the alt-right can claim "fake news".

I thought it seemed a little too Onion-like to be true, but the photo with the note is on Reuter's website.

Yeah, I don't recall ever buying any but game sold in Waitrose does warn on the label that it may contain shot.
I can't imagine the US FDA allowing that. Any "game" other than fish in the USA is going to be farmed. For some reason, farmed fish is objected to by the same people who would go ballistic if people were going out and shooting wild deer for sale in the supermarket.

Do you also only sell farmed fish ? :eye-poppi

PS. Oh .. other than fish .. never mind ..

Why were the pistols they were previously armed with so ineffective that bigger weapons are going to make a significant difference?

Was it rate of fire? How many shots did they get off at Cruz? Were they just poor marksmen?

Is the idea that rifles would improve their accuracy? Or just that they'd be able to get off more shots and improve their odds of hitting what they were aiming at at least a little bit?

My understanding is that none of them ever actually saw Cruz while he was busy killing people, and that he just walked out with the survivors. Unchallenged by any deputies.

How would carrying a bigger firearm improve on that scenario?
