Latest: Shooter still active, not yet apprehended. Between 5 and 25 injured, possibly deaths. Shooter wearing gas mask and with a long gun. Nothing really confirmed as it's early and ongoing.
 
Broward County Fire & Rescue saying at least 20 injured. A different report says at least 3 dead. Shooter still at large. None of that is confirmed.
 
Police describe the shooter as a student and also a member of the US Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Not confirmed.

39 mass shootings (4+ victims) in the US up to Feb 12, so just under one per day. Just another Wednesday indeed. Of course this one gets more publicity because of the number of victims. Has to be in double figures to make the national news.
 
ABCNews now reporting 15 dead "confirmed".

Other reports say 2 dead and 14 "victims" taken to hospitals.

I'm hoping ABC is wrong.
 
CBS Miami saying that up to 7 are dead.

A student told WFOR-TV that other students "knew it was going to be him."

"A lot of people were saying it was going to be him. A lot of kids threw jokes around saying that he was going to be the one to shoot up the school," the student said. "It turns out that everyone predicted it. That's crazy."

Seventeen-year-old junior Matthew Walker spoke to ABC News, saying the suspect was known to show off knives and guns.

"He was going class to class just shooting at random kids," he said. "Everything he posts (on social media) is about weapons. It's sick."

Shooter is Nicolas de Jesus Cruz, 19 years old.

I wouldn't consider anything confirmed yet.
 
Another sad loser nonentity shoots dead 15 (?) and maims fifty college students and teachers - his superiors in every way, intellectually, physically, emotionally - and now he is going to relish his new found fame.
