Save your Dixie cups, the South shall rise again!

That's something I wondered about for a long time -- when would-be Confederates say "The South will rise again!", or put it on bumper stickers, what exactly do they imagine is going to happen? What does "The South will rise again" actually mean?

Yeah, I wonder the same thing. Wait, the South will "rise again"? You mean back up to that level where it was full of slaves? Or where it did a treasonous secession from the United States?

Rise up again to WHAT?

That people from the south consider the pre-civil war south to be a desirable state shows how they just don't get it. Those aren't endearing features that one should be aspiring toward.

Chances the South would "Rise Again" after Reconstruction: Zero. It never happened.

Although, it could happen in the future. I know it' all political bluster ********, but Teas periodically talks about secession. Until they realize just how much they get back from the federal government to support things like their roads and schools.... lol.

The Instant Third World Nation Movement never quite dies out.

I mentioned earlier that "rise" means "rise in rebellion". It's 19thspeak.

This is not a majority opinion in the south. "Would be confederates" are a dwindling, now almost non-existent group. I've never seen more US flags flown than in Nashville's neighborhoods, and that's including the military bases I've lived on.

And the lack of interest in a "resurgent South" is an endless of amusement for me. My cousins are so frustrated. :D

"If they'd just WAKE UP we could get something going!"

"Cuz, you can't even get a lawn mowing business going."

[OT] In my eWhoniverse alt-hist after the USA fragmented in the 1930s (not a nice time, Big Slump, Okie flu, far worse dustbowl and more) the Canada/New England/California axis basically dominated North America for decades after the Eastern War and the suppression of the New Confederacy.
Canada picked up a few bits of the USA (like Alaska) but lost got rid of Quebec.

Military bases? A military base seriously used to fly a flag other than the flag of the United States of America!? I mean, I can see a state flag being flown in a military base, so long as it's flying lower than the national flag. I would think that a military base commander that allows a Confederate flag to be flown on his base, to be treasonous.

"The sheeple must WAKE UP!"

What a stereotype! :D

He did say "US flags".

He did say "US flags".

Well, he did first say that "would be confederates are dwindling," (I know how much such traitors love to fly their confederate flags.)Then the next sentence, he described how there are more American flags flying in Nashville and military bases. So I assumed that Confederate flags were dwindling, along with the Confederate movement. And that includes military bases.
