Saudi journalist disappears in embassy, believed murdered

"Their" backyard was created by "us" through very sober means of fire power, and "Saudi Arabia" - remember this is a name like "Trump America" - is a side creation of "The West" creating Israel. It is a total puppet and maybe it's its time to go giving the state of the energy market, but nobody will get out of it looking pretty.

Maybe.

It is one interpretation of the situation.

I could not be definitive either or.

Changed stories again: Saudi Arabia now concedes killing was premeditated

The Washington Post columnist's killing in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2 was carried out with "prior intention," Saudi Attorney General Saud al-Mojeb said Thursday, according to the state-run Saudi Press Agency.

Prosecutors reached that conclusion based on information Saudi Arabia received from Turkey as part of the countries' joint investigation into Khashoggi's death, according to the statement from the attorney general.

The changing stories so far:

1. Jamal Khashoggi freely walked out of the consulate after conducting his business, nothing happened to him inside
2. Khashoggi was killed after starting a fistfight with unknown persons inside the consulate
3. Khashoggi was accidentally killed by a "rogue team" who had intended to only kidnap him to bring him back to Saudi Arabia
4. Khashoggi's killing in the consulate was premeditated after all, but nobody in the government knew about it and they will definitely get to the bottom of whoever was behind this

I wonder if Turkey has even more information they can release that shows Mohamed Bone Saw's involvement. That would be the final nail in the coffin.

Although, it seems they have a dual strategy. Destroying SA's credibility on the one hand, but also keeping the possibility for continued relations open. 'joint investigation' and all.

This is why:
Washington (CNN)CIA director Gina Haspel is set to brief President Donald Trump on the investigation into the death of Jamal Khashoggi on Thursday, as the President increasingly expresses frustration with the Saudi response and the country's crown prince vows "justice" for the journalist's killers.

Haspel traveled to Turkey on Monday, apparently to assess information the Turks have collected on Khashoggi's killing inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Haspel listened to audio purportedly of his interrogation and murder while she was in Turkey. Trump also said the US has sent officials to Saudi Arabia to get more information on the killing, which has spiraled into a crisis.

Turkey has driven a lot of this Saudi embarrassment by the way they have drip fed information. I suspect that the recordings contain evidence of a premeditated assasination. I think very likely a record of the reported Skype call with inner circle member Saud al-Qahtani who is reported to have said, “Bring me the head of the dog.”

So SA now knows what Turkey knows via the US. And finally constructed a story that is somewhat congruent with what actually happened. Turkey can still release the audio. It would not add information, but it would add A LOT of emotion.

Trump announced the increased import tariffs on Turkish goods during the press conference by the Turkish finance minister on how to tackle their inflation crisis, sending the Lira into a tailspin. And now Erdogan kicked both the KSA and Trump in the balls good.

I'm really curious if they'll stop now to maintain relations with the KSA, or release the audio and force KSA to put up a show trial for this Saud al-Qahtani character (if he's in the recording).

Yeah, but don't forget the more than a million jobs Trump has personally created (in his own head) by selling weapons to SA so they can bomb the **** of if Israel if they feel like it.

I would actually be surprised if they didn't literally bring his head back. It's how they roll.

"Bombshell" (isn't it interesting how this topic was fake bombed out of the "news"?):

Sunday Express said:
MURDERED journalist Jamal Khashoggi was about to disclose details of Saudi Arabia’s use of chemical weapons in Yemen, sources close to him said last night. The revelations come as separate intelligence sources disclosed that Britain had first been made aware of a plot a full three weeks before he walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

I decided to add this here rather than as a separate thread. I don't think there's enough information to support a separate thread. Not yet, anyway.

On October 24th the bodies of two young women were found in or along the Hudson River near W. 68th Street in Manhattan. The women were duct-taped together, bound at the ankle and waist. They had no ID and New York City Police issued a facial sketch and an appeal for help in identifying them. The girls were then identified as two young Saudi women, aged 22 and 16, who had been living in the U.S., near Washington D.C. with their mother. The parents apparently separated and the mother moved to the U.S., with her two daughters, in 2015. The girls had run away from home last December and, when found by police, asked to be placed in a shelter. Authorities agreed, though they will not say why.

At first New York City Police believed this may have been a suicide pact -- a preliminary coroner's report indicated the women were alive when they went into the water -- but now police are not sure. One ominous development has been reported by multiple news sources.

The Associated Press, citing New York police, said that the day before their bodies were discovered, their mother received a call from an official at the Saudi embassy ordering the family to leave because the girls had applied for political asylum. BBC News link

With the events at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul still unfolding, people are understandably suspicious of this latest incident and exactly what may have transpired.

I saw some previews of a report by a Dutch-Kurdish documentary maker.

He had some footage of the spin the Saudis are giving the affair in their own media.

MBS was being interviewed on TV and is basically saying that there has been a terrible crime, and it is all really horrible. Basically, they are casting KSA as a victim here.
There was an interview with a prominent news editor who, like a Stalin-era figure, knew exactly how to express his opinion without upsetting the authorities. Giving a mix of 10% criticism, hidden in 90% praise and support for the state.

There's an interesting bit of information in the Post article. The Saudi embassy has denied reports that the day before the bodies of the young women were discovered, the embassy had called the mother, Mrs. Farea, and told her the family would have to return to Saudi Arabia because the girls had applied to U.S. officials "for political asylum."
A Saudi official said that was inaccurate and that the embassy did not know whether the Farea sisters had applied for asylum. “The mother’s immigration status was expired,” the official said. “Immigration asked her to leave, and we asked for an extension for her and that is what the conversation was about, not the alleged asylum.”

The Washington 'Pest today published an op-ed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which he gets to style himself as "a responsible member of the international community".

SPIEGEL the same day today published an op-ed by Khashoggi's fiance (in German, behind a paywall).

Seems there is still some life in this.

Related, US and Turkey are removing sanctions they had on each others ministers. Look it up.

Where did they get a hold of the acid at such short notice? Amazon Prime?

Haven't they watched Forensic Files or Breaking Bad? Even though it seems like the perfect method it always leaves traces.

Not sure it had to be short notice; even the Saudi government (reluctantly) concedes the entire killing was premeditated. So, this isn't a case of people suddenly finding themselves with a body to dispose of and going "oh shoot, what do we do now?" They would have brought the acid with them, or otherwise made sure it was available when they needed it.

That's what I was driving (flying?) at. They brought the acid with them on the plane. Nice.
