Sarah Palin Denial Syndrome?

It seems to fit in conversations with people who still refer to Bush as "the Shrub".

So, like people who call Bush "Shrub", I shouldn't bother to consider anything you have to say worthwhile? That's an interesting concession.

And it's still a Birther standard. I haven't seen "Shrub" consistently tied to any conspiracy theories.

Given the context of this thread and your OP this seems a rather a strange thing to say:

i pray, that you are right.

if Obama is gonna be unseated by a GOPer, let it at least be by someone who is qualified and sophisticated.

since just yesterday you seemed thrilled at the prospect of giving Obama such an easy opponent:

Sarah Palin considering 2012 Presidential run!!!

oh......oh......oh!!!!

feels sooo good.....lol.

Sarah, you are my dream come true. You, and you alone, can insure Obama a 2nd term, and Democratic control of the White House through 2016!!!

do it Sarah...do it!!!!

make my sweet dreams come true!!

It isn't conflicting. He's saying that if he is unseated it should be by someone qualified, but he'd rather he not be unseated by the GOP.

And, as Post #23 puts it so eloquently, she's got him beaten on qualifications hands down.

Frankly, that post is just silly.

That aside, I beg to differ. When she was elected governor, she wasn't qualified for the job. She ended up getting the VP nomination and performed HORRENDOUSLY during the campaign. She showed the world clearly that she wasn't qualified.

She then quit as governor.

So please explain how she is qualified to be president.

Do you think that's how she became the GOP VP candidate?

Unlike pretty much any other candidate, VP candidates are selected by one person, not the voters. So pretty much any comparison between the selection process of a VP candidate and that of any other elected official is not really a valid comparison.

But if the job is the POTUS,... ex-governor, all of which she did quite well in,

So quitting in the middle of the term when the going got tough is considered doing quite well?

I'd sure be excited if Barry followed suit. It would be the best decision he's made to date.

I know the question wasn't asked of you, AvalonXQ, but since you have provided your opinion of the question, would you provide an answer to the question?

She is a natural born citizen of the United States, she is at least thirty-five years old and has been a permanent resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.

She qualifies.

No. She screwed it up repeatedly.

Hired a sorry excuse for a man as police chief and then charged rape victims for the investigation, in ivolation of Federal law. Stuck the city with a masive debt for the construction of a sports venue on land they did not clearly own.

Freaking brilliant.

Illegally tried to screw over her ex-brother-in-law in a way that would have prevented his ever earning a decent living in his chosen field, embarrassed the whole rational faction (all 20-30 of them) in the GOP by babbling incomprehensible tripe about various foreign and domestic issues.

Don't forget about the "dairygate" mess.

good point. all the more reason to question why Conservatives don't push for a more sophisticated candidate.

being country folk and cute is one thing for Mayor...even Congressman.

but President??? no freaking way.

This is it in a nutshell, right here. It has little to do with her qualifications or lack thereof; it has little to do with her intelligence or lack thereof, even her policy positions are secondary. For those people who just can't stand Palin, it is because, as far as they are concerned, she comes from a different culture...she isn't one of them. The jokes about Palin, and many of the derogatory comments (aside from those that sexualize her or otherwise attack her for being a woman) are about cultural traits associated with "being country folk": her hunting, the way she talks, her family, the small town she lives in, the multiple (non-Ivy league) colleges she went to, being a past beauty queen, past sportscaster, etc. She did get a journalism degree, which would normally buy her a pass, but it wasn't from Columbia, it was from the University of Idaho. IDAHO! That's just icky. Idaho is full of hicks, just like Alaska!

That's also, by the way, her big appeal to those who have fallen in love with her, politically. There are significant numbers of people who feel that our political elites (of all stripes) have completely failed this country for the past few decades and on top of it have grown arrogant and complacent. That's Palin's biggest line of attack and the thing that most resonates with her supporters. That's also why there is such palpable anger at officeholders of both parties, from their own party members, but there is even more anger within conservative groups at the Republican party for espousing smaller, less intrusive government and failing to deliver it when they had the chance. Newt Gingrich, for example, probably has policy positions pretty close to Palin's, but for Palin's supporters, he's not one of them, he's one of the political elites.

Sarah Palin is a giant, curltural Rorschach test for America.

Hehe - someone laid this out real well recently in a recent thread contrasting the experience between the two in bullet point form, and I think most rational people without a dog in the race would concede that looking at the narrow factor of resume experience, Obama still has better "qualifications".

But look around you. The people you work with. Friends. We're all condensed into resume form somewhere. And we probably all look ok there if we've done our homework and earned our degrees and got some good references.

But we all know - every single one of us - at least one, if not more people, who fail to live up to the "experience" present in a resume. Who, for one reason or another, are walking trainwrecks. Even people with PHDs or law degrees.

So for anyone who still, somehow (some way), thinks that Palin has a better resume than Obama - may I refer you to the part of Vega's post in bold above:

SHE SHOWED THE WORLD SHE WASN'T QUALIFIED

and she keeps showing us every day.

Oh, yeah?

Let's see her birth certificate.

SHE SHOWED THE WORLD SHE WASN'T QUALIFIED

... by which you mean, the MSM tried to convince the world she wasn't qualified, and failed.
Continue lying to yourself, though. It works to our advantage.

Barack Obama is an imbecile who became president.
Bill Clinton, while a bad president, was not an imbecile.
Barack Obama is not an imbecile.

Reagan and Bush were not imbeciles, even in the colloquial definition.
Reagan, Quayle, Little Bush and Palin all have said incredibly stupid things, apparently with sincerity. If you disagree and somehow think that these individuals are not imbeciles, I submit you were not paying attention. I stand by my point. They are imbeciles.

Aha! The hidden hand of the monolithic and ever-present MSM at work again, constantly conspiring against True Conservatives everywhere!
