Salvaging Science

I still don't know why science has to be salvaged,nor the date of this coming dark age. Should I get my money out of the bank and keep it under my mattress?

Scientific development is controlled by people and people make mistakes. But what does this have to do with keeping money under the mattress?

Science contributed a great deal to the industrial revolution in the 19thCE. Thermodynamics fed directly into improvements in steam-technology which was the whole basis of that revolution. Telegraph and radio followed the science. Metallurgy has already been mentioned, Then there's optics, the whole chemical and electrical engineering industries, and many spiffing weapons of war. All developed from the science, not the other way around.

There is no point of contention, since you are simply wrong. So where did you get the idea from, and do you still trust that source?

I do. I'm assuming you are referring to the Internet energy contraction thread? I actually have a long detailed response to much of what was said in that thread planned, but I have a few more topics to blaze through here before we get onto that.

Short answer though, computers are intricately tied to industrial civilization, can't have them without it.

TFian, just a reminder... I understand if life got in the way, but if you're still "planning", well, hopefully it's coming soon.
