Saddam to be executed - tonight.

My New Year's wish is that Bush suffers the same fate. He is just as big of a petty dictator than Hussein was. His mindless urge to wage a pointless war should be tried in an international court.

Whatever any of you say, Hussein was the rightful leader of Iraq. The USA had no right to invade a soveriegn country that obviously posed no threat to us.

BTW, I am an American and a descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration, but Bush makes me be ashamed to be an American.

Whereas totally non-ironic free democratic speech merely posts ... videos of executions. Like WildCat did. For all "posterity" to see. Hurrah!

It's like rai-ai-ain, on your wedding day ...
No, not ironic. Necessary. It was important to video the death of Saddam to leave no room for doubt about it. In the US executions are not public, but they are observed by the trusted media. I doubt that the average Iraqi has all that much faith in their media, and rumors would fly if it hadn't been taped.

Perhaps you prefer the Japanese way, where executions are carried out in secret?

I did not revel over the execution, I simply posted the link to where it could be seen per TCS's request.

Yeah, Bush stepped over the line when he started gassing towns in New England states who didn't support him. Wow, what a deranged comparison. I can only conclude that you have absolutely no idea what has been happening in Iraq the last 30 years or so.

I bet your forefather would be so thrilled to see a US President hauled in to a court of foreign powers on politically motivated charges.

Let's review:

Nathan Hale: "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country."

SteveW: Kofi? Jacques? A little help here.

Forgive me for thinking this bloodlust is totally sick. How can we criticise others for doing what we do ourselves but that doesn't seem to be a problem around here.

By all means, emigrate.

To all those that responded:

Can you say Jingoism? I knew you could.

Emigrate? I wish I could from this f*cked up country.

You all who support Hussein's execution are totally wrong.

I won't waste my time trying to convice you morons of you ignorance.

No, he stepped over the line when he got rid of constitutional rights. You are a damn moron if you support that bastard of a "president" we have.

When did he "get rid of constitutional rights"? Has Martial Law been declared?

Sure you can, just leave. Paradise awaits you somewhere else...

Wow. Are you going to cry now?

BTW, emigrating requires very little: just a passport and a willing nation. So...which nation will have you?

P.S. And you're right, its best not to try to convince a moron of their ignorance. Sorry to see you leave so soon. Don't let the doors to the U.S. hit you on the ass on the way out.

This isn't Cuba. You don't need to go to sea aboard a pool toy. There's Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Greenland, Chile, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden....

If you're serious, we could take up a collection to help you on your way. Perhaps Cuba would take you. (Perhaps not, most countries have enough like you already.)

However, I doubt you're serious. This is one of the only countries where you can say just about anything and stay out of jail. This is a country where you can let others fight for your security, while you sit safely typing garbage on your computer. Sure, some people will think you're an idiot. I certainly do.

Here;s the thing that bothers me....Saddam was our guy when he was at war with Iran and he was gassing the Kurds and we did nothing...our hands are not clean and we appear to be the prime mover in what did not appear to be a legitimate trial...he should have been sent to the Hague.
b44. who understands the need for video of the execution, but doesn't feel the need to witness a murder.
