Rush Limbaugh says we need to return to ‘segregated buses'

No, the people who can actually comprehend the words Limbaugh said and the tone thereof are claiming sarcasm, not because of some attempt to gain "respect", but because that's what it was.
If you actually understand it, then explain it to me.

I listened to the piece and couldn't figure out what the heck he was going on about.
There were too many assumed connections that I couldn't follow.
For instance, What the heck does a school bus fight have to do with "Obama's America"?
How does this relate to segregated buses?
Why would Obama defend the assailants?
And how the heck did "free markets" enter the rant.

Honestly, if anyone could piece together what Limbaugh was saying, I'd love to hear it. As far as I could tell, it was the kind of disjointed nonsensical "everything's connected" nonsense I'd expect from someone who went off the conspiracy deep end.

I assume he was being sarcastic, because I can't imagine him being that daft. I simply don't know what the heck he's being sarcastic about.

Actually I think I heard the Rush side of this explained on Hannity on the radio--not mentioning Rush explicitly, but it expressed the point of view I think...

He commented that if a bunch of whites had beat up a black kid that it would be assumed to be racist, and since it's the reverse they're hastily denying any racist connection.

Unfortunately he missed a golden opportunity to explain that it might or might not be racism in either situation, depending on the EVIDENCE, instead choosing to lament that only whites are accused of hate crimes automatically.

I guess that was the part I missed. By why does that make it "Obama's America"? didn't the same observation exist prior to Obama's Presidency?

Yes, it's a strange paradox. On the one hand, as the rightists keep telling us, the media is dominated by evil liberals, proving how the right is persecuted. On the other hand, as rightists keep telling us, the media is dominated by virtuous conservatives, proving how the right is winning.

It's the same way that they can insist the country is becoming more liberal, in that conservatives like Reagan would 'never be accepted today' but also claim that conservatives are the silent majority (and that conservatives are smarter than liberals - the silent, intelligent majority is apparently being lead around by a few stupid loudmouths).

Cognitive dissonance (or, as Orwell preferred, Doublethink)
