Rush Limbaugh has a heart attack?

I think it was a hoax to get personal attention and to use as anti-healthcare bill propaganda. The guy has intense chest pains requiring hospitalization, but, doctors can find nothing. It's very suspicious

Worked out okay for him the last time...

Seriously? He's done it before?

Sure he has. Back when he was popping oxycontin like tic-tacs, he had someone working for him (I believe it was a maid) getting him pills from outside sources. I say it worked out for him because I don't think he served any sentence (he got the charges dropped). It probably doesn't show up on Wikipedia because of typical wiki-wars that occur over details like that. TSG has a brief description of what I'm talking about. Everyone else involved with the trafficking and selling of the drugs Rush was taking got charged, Rush got his dropped.

I remember hearing all sorts of details about this when it was new news (his maid apparently went to tabloids for paid tell-alls), and I'm surprised that a simple google search only finds accounts of the more sanitized version.

Wow,,, I remember him admitting he was addicted but I didn't know about this.

It's not unknown for people to go to the hospital with chest pains and have nothing wrong. My father did it twice in his lifetime. Sometimes the pain is something altogether different that is minor and misinterpreted as a heart issue. Other times it can be all in the mind of someone who is just having a major stress out fit.

I don't think it's very suspicious.

Panic attacks are often mistaken with heart attacks by the sufferer.

It does kind of show how sick this country is when Brittany Murphy keels over dead, and we are expected to think good thoughts about the pigman.

Where are your priorities, people?

Back when I used to do a good deal of spelunking I gave myself a muscle tear in my chest (not all that hard to do when stretching and crawling around). I swore I was having the grand daddy of all heart attacks (I didn't yet know it was a muscle tear) --- the pain was very intense and quite scary.

I also find it interesting how the tone from Limbaugh haters went from "I wish he dies" to "It was a publicity hoax" when news of his condition reversed. The pure vile that spews forth from them comes out in full force no matter which way the valve is turned.

I don't think it's a hoax. I think Limbaugh's an idiot propagandist for claiming "there's not one thing wrong" with the American health care system. **** this guy.

Another thing for the holier-than-thou right-wingers bitching about how the left's mean-spiritedness... the other day I stumbled upon the Ted Kennedy thread where the usual suspects gleefully posted the same old hack jokes, caught up in the unrestrained euphoria of the conservative blogosphere. Whatever, I don't really care about grave dancing (even for old white guys who can't dance), but Limbaugh's ripe for death wishes because he possesses a meanness that's uncommon even in the political world. So, yeah, **** this guy. I'm not sitting here wishing he gets lung cancer because... Jesus, I only get three wishes.

Wow ... it seems the argument of defending rude behavior by pointing to other rude behavior will never die.

Rush Limbaugh is just an entertainer. I'm not a fan, but I can't hate someone just because I disagree with him.

I just don't listen to his show.

Good point. This is pretty typical of "political" debate where the "left" and "right" are cheered for like rival football teams.

OK I don't like Rush but I certainly don't wish him dead, he just isn't that important to my life one way or another. However, your post brought to mind an amusing image of the tubby one worming his way through a narrow cave.
I do not believe in that case 'spelunking' is the correct term.
'Sphinctering', I submit is what it should be called when a large turd makes its way through a tight, narrow, dark tunnel.

Wow, all that bile and venom spewing out should have short circuited this guy's keyboard.

Despite what I wrote earlier I agree with you. I don't want him to die from a heart attack. In fact, I'd like him to live to be 100. But I would like him to suffer a stroke soon that causes permanent and incurable locked-in syndrome.

With Nurse Randi Rhodes administering his daily regimen of stenuous Drano® enemas?

You have two ways to prevent an individual from gaining support:

1: Use your respectful, detailed, and rational arguments to expose the superiority of your side, in turn exposing the deceitful, rude, loud and poor arguments of the opponent. You win, with your dignity standing tall. It's what Mandela or King would do.

Unfortunately, as you should know by now, there's a large portion of society that refuses to listen to, or acknowledge "rational arguments", and instead choose to subsist on the daily troll droppings of Limbaugh. There's no "winning" with these people, no matter how rational your arguments are.
It's like truthers and Alex Jones.. There's no arguing with the majority of them.. Taking Alex Jones out of the picture isn't going to magically make them all vanish, but at least they're minus their master spinner of woo.. Which in the long run, will probably have some impact on the amount of nutters being recruited, since he's a pretty big force in CT land, and great at spinning the stuff for CTers.. Limbaugh is a master at what he does, and would not easily be replaced, which would result in one less support that reinforces the weird world view of the neokooks.

2: Watch while the individual dies, and laugh from your sofa. You win, for a short time (before Sarah Palin begins her new radio show with "Look at the callous nature of the left, and they want to say how we should take care of our citizens?"), with no dignity, and no respect. It's what Hannity or Galloway would do.

Not laughing, just sort of, relieved ..
