Nope, I said something else altogether.
Suuuure you did.
And it came to pass, did it?
Nope, I said something else altogether.
Nope, I said something else altogether.
In the meantime, watching the blood letting is the best fun I've had in a long time. This government and Julia deserves everything they get.
Worst PM ever!
That's quite an opinion you have there.
Yeah, it's quite amusing to see such irrational hatred masquerading as political commentary.
Brilliant tactical move. He'll be PM again as soon as the QLD election is done.
Thoughts?
Brilliant tactical move if you want to see just how much **** can be made to hit a fan at the one time. Otherwise, he is demonstrating that he has changed, but not for the better, he's now worse than ever. I used to feel sorry for him being dumped, but not any longer. Every time Labor has climbed back up in the polls, started to look more in control, been entitled to reap the benefits of moving in with it's legislation, he has made sure he has pulled the rug out from under them every time.
He is a smart guy, but his self importance undermines his party every time. With him backing his party as much as he can, Labor would no doubt be better off than it is now.
Absolutely correct.
Try as I might, I find it hard to disagree with anything you have said.
Which - by extension - proves just how weak the PM actually is. She has been incapable of controlling her wayward minister which has undermined her own position and the government itself.
This goes directly to the heart of her appalling judgement and integrity, which are some of the reasons why she is mud in the eyes of the public. Her position is subsequently so weak that she is unable to govern effectively.
Rudd is not Labor's problem (although he is one of them), Gillard is.
Dump her now - anyone would be worth the punt - at least that way Labor has some chance (however slim) at winning the next election.
I watched Rudd's presser this morning. His mission is to save Labor and save Australia? Vomitous.
His attempt to take the "man of the people" mantle is laughable. A pompous, arrogant, plum-in-mouth, weasel-wording diplomat? Man of the people?
He then went on to claim that only the people can properly chose a PM, knowing that even schoolchildren know this is wrong. The man is an embarrassment and will get his arse royally kicked on Monday.
If only the libs would shunt turnbull back into leadership, I'd vote for them over gillard.....but I'm sorry, it is impossible to believe that anybody could stomach abbott as pm......
I think the independents would put up with Rudd if he became PM, not do something that could risk their position. It would be a Pyrric victory then because it's extremely unlikely he would hold the support of the independents. Anyway, Rudd would have to be 100/1.
I'm not so sure. If there is a wave of popular opinion for KRudd and against Gillard over the weekend, plus some unfavourbale polling on Monday, then certain Labor MPs in marginal seats will be getting itchy. You can trust that a politician's first instinct is for survival, and if survival looks more likely under Rudd, then they may switch sides.
I'd still favour Gillard to hang on, but only just. It wouldn't be a shock to see Kev as PM next week.
This is the story the press hasn't been telling you. He hasn't got a snow ball's chance in hell of being PM next week. That's why it's such a beat up. It's been good enough to cause merry hell for a minority government, to assuage to ego of one person who still can't realise that time has moved on. If he really thinks he can help, he should be looking for the next person to lead the Labor Party and helping them. I doubt the thought has entered his mind.
Another vote for Julia retaining the top job. Even if Rudd is supposedly popular, he's such a difficult person to work with and for that nobody wants a repeat of the Rudd Experience in cabinet - and he's offside with the unions.
I'm laying down two pineapples and an avocado. Oh, and half a grape. And a crust with crunchy peanut butter.
The $200 I get and I'm guessing on $2.50 for ½ a grape but you've got me on the last bit.
Which again helps underline just what an appalling leader Gillard is, and what a dearth of ability is within the Labor party if these two are the best on offer.
