And the song states that "they grow up in the most delightful way". Even the guy in the song only likes women when they are grown up, so not really appropriate for Mr. Moore (yes, yes I know, it is a joke but still...)

It appears that some of Moore's supporters..connected with Steve Bannon. attempted to bribe one of his accusers attorney's to drop the case....something which, if the attorney accepted and it came out, would result in his being disbarred and losing his licence to practice law. Motivation apparently was a Moore loss would do serious damage to Bannon's reputation as a Kingmaker in GOP Politics.
Moore lost, and Bannon is pretty much, despite he still makes the news, a non power in the GOP.

Reading an article about that amused me as Moore and his supporters all scrambled to throw each other under the bus.
 
Ed Sexton, the attorney of the woman who first went public with the allegations against Roy Moore says that soon after the story broke, he was approached by two Roy Moore supporters who offered him $10,000, and other perks like a personal meeting with Stephen Bannon and others, to drop the woman as a client and publicly state that he didn't believe her story. Phone recordings and texts corroborate his account, along with statements of others, including another attorney whom Sexton consulted for advice about the situation as it was happening.

Am I just risk-averse, but regardless of any morals, 10k would not be worth risking my career for.

Face it, 100k wouldn't be enough.
