"Now listen, to me that was a homophobic remark. If that was a straight man, if that was a cute man, if that was a guy that she didn't question his sexuality, she would have said a different thing," O'Donnell said.

Linky
Homophobia phoney

So then, Rosie is saying that Clay Aiken is an ugly gay person?

Kudos to Kelly Ripa for calling her on the carpet.

Can I just say right now that Rosie is the craziest bitch on Earth at this moment in time. I mean Ann Coulter crazy, and bitchy. I think it's just self-evident that you might not want someone else putting their hand on your mouth -- not only because it's a violation of personal space but also because, dang, hands are dirty.

For what it's worth, I didn't read the "don't know where it's been" remark as homophobic. (Yes, I'm gay, if'n you didn't know.)

True dat.

Yes, but where has her mouth been? Stupid white bitches.

But given the comment by Rosie, it does make me wonder why she equated the two issues. IOW, where have her hands been?

Yeah, Rosie's way off base here. She's the one who's brought up the issue of homosexuality and connected it to Clay Aiken. Nice.

Nah, here's what's going on in her tortured imagination: She knows that Aiken is a semi-closeted (widely assumed but unacknowleged) homosexual, as she once was. She is extra sensitive to the pain of self-loathing that accompanies that kabuki, and easily manufactures bogeymen. If anything, she has done Aiken a serious disservice to by calling into public focus his sexual orientation when he probably doesn't want such a spotlight. I bet Aiken hates Rosie right now as much as Kelly does. It's a 3-way hatefest!

The sun rises in the east, Mr MOTO. :D
O'Donnell: "I'm just saying from where I sit as a gay person in the world that I have to tell you, that's how it came off to me."
Chip-on-shoulder much, Rosie? :boggled:

Clay Aiken is, I hope, learning to love the trappings of fame. Be careful what you wish for, Clay, for you are sure to get it. ;)

As I would imagine most people (gay or otherwise) would not.

I would have taken it as having a sexual, humerous connotation, but it would be irrelevant to his orientation -- it would have been just as funny with a straight guy.

Dear Rosie O'Donnell,

I, like a lot of people, dislike you because you're an obnoxious idiot, not because you're a lesbian.

Yours Truely,

Guy-Who-Doesn't-Like-to-Have-Face-Touched-by-Creepy-People, esq.

I'm offended by the suggestion that only gay people put their hands in weird places. Oh, if my hands could talk.

I will never understand Rosie O'Donnell's success.

Her stand up had its moments back before she became really famous. Her ability to work a room, Don Rickles style, was pretty good.
