Here's Romney's latest campaign ad in which he selectively quotes Obama.

“If we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose,” Obama intones, his voice echoing over a video clip of a bleak-looking residential neighborhood.

The problem is, that’s only half of what Obama said. The clip was from the 2008 presidential campaign, and Obama was actually quoting his Republican opponent, John McCain. Here’s the full quote: “Senator McCain’s campaign actually said, and I quote, if we keep talking about the economy, we’re going to lose.”

The former gov. of my home state is a liar, i.e. he's a politician from here. I just don't get why or how politicians from this state advance into the national spotlight. It was probably Pres. Kennedy, but regardless, do not vote for people from Massachusetts, ever. They're hyper political bozos, drunken monied blowhards, lying liars who lie and bombastic gigolos. The last three speakers of the state house are convicted felons. We actually re-elected a man who was in jail at the time of the vote (Curley). Nuts. Nutty. Boston's Mayor Menino? He's an "alcatraz around our neck". Do not trust us. We know not what we do. Run far, far away.

You say that as if there's something unique to politicians from Massachusetts.

He's going to repeal Obamacare because it is killing jobs?

On what basis does he say this? This is a serious question because I really don't know what Obamacare is exactly and how it affects the economy. In fact, I didn't even know that it was in operation yet.

It's not. It goes into effect in 2014, but the Republicons believe that just the threat of Obamacare eventually going into effect is enough to cause companies to stop hiring.

Yeah, it's a case of not being able to prove a negative. Unemployment is high, so prove it's not "uncertainty about Obamacare" holding businesses back!

If you answer, "it's a lack of demand, not a health care law that goes into effect in 2014", you'd be right, but everyone knows facts have a liberal bias.

Hmmm, I realize now that the bit commentators are saying is misleading is where he is quoted quoting McCain as if they were his own words. That kind of quote-mining is pretty low and further reducing Romney in my eyes as having any respectability at all. Though I am not an American citizen and can't vote so my opinion counts for very little.

Many parts have already gone into effect. And people will not want to give those things up.

But, yeah, the facts don't support this mantra of the Republicans calling it "job-killing". At best it just begs the question.

Yep. Doing that would get you a mod warning here.

I hope the mainstream media hear about this.

And I hope Romney defends himself by saying that he doesn't really check each ad that includes the "I'm Mitt Romney, and I approved this ad" tagline. :D

No, it can't be... a dishonest politician, in America! Oh where has our innocence gone?

It seems to me that allowing people to carry portability from group plans would be a benefit to employers, but I don't know exactly how that's supposed to work. I have a question on Obamacare, which is, I got turned down for individual insurance but was directed to a federal Web site (my state doesn't have a high-risk pool) and it seems once I've been without for 6 months they'll insure me. It's not cheap but it's not horrendously expensive either.

In 2008 CNN quoted Obama saying "McCain doesn't care" when he really said, "I don't think McCain doesn't care; I think he doesn't know." That was not put out by Obama, though. I hope he has a way to rectify the Romney disinformation without it becoming a distraction. It seems wrong not to call Romney on this crap. Let him run on his merits. I don't think it's going to make Obama look that bad anyway. At least, I think quite a few Americans understand the protracted doldrums aren't all on him.
