Ed Rob Menard's FOTL Claims

So. I have the opportunity to build a house on land I don't own. The restrictions on the design and type of house will be solely on the whims of another person who also doesn't own the land. If I ever decide to sell the house, there will be restrictions on who may buy it. And if I do anything to piss off the lord of the land (or the owner of the land), I can be kicked out of my house with no recourse. In fact, if I do absolutely nothing wrong, but the lord of the land pisses off the owner of the land, I will be kicked out of my house with no recourse.

In addition, there will be a criminal code that will be enforced, but the exact nature of that criminal code is not available for review at this time. The people defining this code are not even capable of clearly stating whether or not wife beating will be a criminal action or not. Heroin will be legal and apparently people can sell heroin to my children because the criminal code is a bit ambiguous on the matter.

And the whole thing will be run by someone too afraid to debate people on internet message boards.

Where do I sign up?!


ETA: I do hope they don't build these log cabins too close to each other because FMOTLers don't like paying for firefighters.

Given they'll be blue with cold and probably wasting away through lack of food (man cannot live on beer and pot alone), I think "smerfs" would be a better name for them.

I have heard of brewery workers who could live on beer alone [/nitpick]

All we need is a way for the freeloaders to procure enough beer. :D
 
What would be lovely is if some other Freeman (well, anybody actually) "obtained" all the land upstream from Menardland and decided to build a Dam because he/she felt they needed all the water in the river. Maybe they want it for a really, really cool looking rock pool, or maybe they want it because they are growing hops and need all the water to use for making Beer to trade for Menard's bread.

Then he/she decides for health reasons that a trickle of water needs to be diverted into Menardland, for sewerage purposes, and diverts his effluent to immediately below the Dam..

Mr "Freeman Menard" now has no water, and no response, because the water has been diverted from outside his jurisdiction, by somebody who may or may not agree with his philosophy. If they are a Freeman, he has to live with it, because he is a Freeman. If they are not, he has to live with it, because they accept Statute Law.

What's your solution to this Robby boy?

A lawyer, the scum of the earth who are only in the pockets of the legal system, who only have a duty to the court, they are not your friend etc,etc,etc...

What would be the point of a lawyer?
The only reason a lawyer would be used is to make the contract "legally" binding which would enable to parties to seek satisfaction through the courts in case of a breach of contract.
Any self respecting freeman could simply refuse to consent to the courts jurisdiction couldnt they?

He's getting the leases drafted professionally because if he did them himself it's likely large parts of them would be incoherent or void.

Thanks for the heads up. I am filled with childish laughter at my childish antics - I declare a childish win.

So the folks on that board are so enamored of Freeman Menard that when they read a thread in which the seventeenth post contradicts the first and fourteenth post, they don't notice it?

Lastly, my favorite part of his response was "sprinkler systems." I'm off to search the internet for yurts with sprinkler systems. Backsoon.
 
This Rob character is quite the idiot. He is without doubt the worst conman, guru, freeman, cult leader I have ever come across. It annoys me though, not him, but the fact that people are still willing to gobble up what he says, albeit alot less now.

So, I make a joke on a board that FMOTL don't frequent, Freeman Menard calls me names, and then he concludes that I am the one who lacks the maturity to discuss a matter without denigration.

As for the sarcasm, if anyone who ever posted anything sarcastic on the internet ever in their lives is excluded, then the pool of applicants has been reduced to zero. If I were ambitious, I'd find an example of Menard being sarcastic on the internet and then he would have to exclude himself. Hell, even the most righteous of the righteous who come to the JREF to preach the loving Word of God to us find themselves using sarcasm after 10 or 11 pages.
