Riots, looting, vandalism, etc.

As is typical for acts of mass violence by the fascist right, police in Olympia, WA took a hands off approach to a group of MAGA CHUDs beating and macing a group of counter protestors. Scenes from the day include numerous examples of CHUDs beating people with metal flag poles, including one especially violent scene where they beat a defenseless person on the ground and also beat the person that tried to lay on top to protect the injured person's head.

A CHUD was later arrested, belatedly, after independent media circulated video of the violence showing a CHUD brandishing a gun. One person was struck by a grazing gunshot across the abdomen. Again, cops did little to nothing to stop a roving right wing riot that included active gunfire. A stark contrast to the heavy handed response that left wing demonstrations almost always receive. Cops and Klan, hand in hand again.

As is the usual MO for policing of fascist rallies, arrests only occur after the fact if there is a sufficient public outrage to the open street violence that is being permitted to occur.

Arrest records show the shooter, Christopher Michael Guenzler, booked for 1st and 2nd degree assault. Speculation that one charge is for actual gunfire, another for video documented pointing of his pistol into a crowd.

Spontaneous protest in Portland erupted to resist efforts by the PPB to evict a black family.

The "Red House" has turned into miniature occupied protest as debris has been fashioned into barricades to prevent cops from evicting a family.

Right wingers are calling for heavily armed mobs to descend on the protest to violently disperse the crowd.

Mayor Ted "Teargas" Wheeler has indicated that he plans to send riot police to disperse this protest. A violent confrontation seems likely at any moment.

Couldn't the people standing up for the evictees simply have taken up a collection to pay off the note?
 
Aren't evictions nationwide on hold until the end of the year by federal mandate? That would make the police/landlord the lawbreakers here.

They aren't renters or homeowners. The home was foreclosed back in 2018 and an investor bought it. Since then they have been in court to try to overturn that.

I haven't delved into the details of their legal argument.

Looks like the oldest son is a moorish sovcit crank. Seems likely their legal troubles are probably self-inflicted wounds related to the destructive sovict CT.

I think there's probably a very good reason to oppose eviction and gentrification, but this family may be the worst possible posterchild for such an effort :(

They continuously borrowed against their property to subsidise disobeying sensible laws, such as insuring your car. Then they decided to never pay those loans back because Moorish. They absolutely should be evicted.

I don't know that they are any more nuts than any other sovcit variant. It comes in many flavors, all equally absurd.

Yeah, I should not have used that shorthand without explaining first. Typing out sovereign citizen each time is a bit tedious.
