And now someone in Portland is dead. Unclear at this time which "team" the shooter or victim is on. Possibly, not even related to protests.

Here's one line from one article about it:

"Videos from the scene showed sporadic fighting, as well as Trump supporters firing paintball pellets at opponents and using bear spray as counter-protesters threw things at the Trump caravan."

I would love it if police analyzed those videos, did their best to identify every thrower, sprayer, and pellet shooter, and issued arrest warrants for all of them. No good can come of this crap. Every "militia member", and "proud boy" and Antifa vandal is a menace to society and they should all have the opportunity to explain their actions to a judge.

It's hard to say. This is America after all. A few weeks back there was a protest meeting of heavily armed black people in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and it went ok, with no one getting shot, and no one getting arrested as far as I know.


They could have at least asked him for ID to verify his age, which would have shown him to be too young to be carrying the weapon legally.

I think. I would hope. I would hope an under 18 wouldn't be legal, even here in the Land of the Free.

The ironic part of the cartoon is that the worst non-cop riot in reaction to MLK Jr. was when white people lost their minds in Chicago, as usual because black people were asking for equal rights - the very people that would pass around this cartoon portraying MLK as a rioter - and the same people on this thread screeching about "violent BLM supporters". But, as with many race riots started by whites in those days (and now, but I digress), it was blamed entirely on supposedly out of control black people who didn't know their place. Note that Bloody Sunday was a cop riot, much like we've been watching lately in places like Ferguson, Portland, and so forth.

Racist white Americans, like everyone else that believe they're part of a so-called "master race", seem to be truly terrified to compete equally for anything.

Andy is a fascist liar, but if it's true, it was bound to happen. Fascist have been killing anti-fascists for a long time, so maybe this'll be the day they start to even the odds.
 
I fear there may be may be many more dead on both sides if calmer heads don't prevail.

Neither side will "win" by fighting on the street but there will be casualties and needless damage to communities.

Cops don't give a **** when these people convoy into the city armed with mace, paintball guns firing solid plastic rounds (not paintballs), clubs, and lots of guns. This shooting is a direct result of their refusal to police right wing violence. I'm just glad it was a CHUD that got shot.

They go out, pick fights and threaten people then claim victim-hood when they lose a fight. It's unfortunate that someone died but if I had a gun and someone was shooting at me, I'd probably shoot back. It doesn't matter if it's paint balls or not.

My knickers remain untwisted. I’m just not in the habit of taking at face value the claims of defense attorneys for accused murderers. Your standards seem significantly lower.
