Riots, looting, vandalism, etc.

Do you think that you’ve somehow refuted what Michelle Obama said?

Nah, just highlighting the underwhelming violent "freedom fighters" who were mostly peacefully protesting for racial solidarity.

By racial solidarity I mean rioting because a 17-year-old underprivileged youth, who brandished a stolen handgun while arguing with a stranger in a mall, was shot and killed by a black police officer after he removed the stolen handgun from a Fanny pack and fired it in the direction of pursuing police officers.

Weird then that you would post Michelle Obama’s statement if your intent wasn’t to refute it.

Was this just a non sequitur?

Or is there some other point you were trying to make?

The article you linked isn’t about anyone rioting. The word “riot” doesn’t appear anywhere in it.

Did you mean to post a different link?

Was talking with one of my kids about the American and French Revolutions. She opined that when a government spends generations pissing off a people, they get a bit resentful. Some get downright nasty. Almost makes you wish you had tried to resolve the problems a little sooner, before it got to that point. Complaining about violence sparking up when you had decades of warning seems a bit dense. Hey, maybe this would be a good time to listen rather than doubling down? Just a thought.

Yep.
It's amazing how the "blue lives matter" crowd insists that protests must be peaceful, and at the same time celebrate the beginnings of the American Revolution.

As, I suppose, we should have listened to the Ruby Ridge/Tim McVeigh/David Koresh/ Cliven Bundy people when they made it abundantly clear that the government was "pissing them off"??

It might be possible to determine which grievances are legitimate and which aren’t. Food for thought.

Is she under the impression that these revolutions are similar?

Because they aren't.

They of course have similarities and differences. Disagree? I mean, I can describe similarities between Senate appropriation bills and my current sexual fetishes.

Yes. Government should always be listening to its unhappy constituents, and act accordingly.

Big difference between the lone McVeigh and Nichols, and a nationwide movement tho.

Speak of the devil:

Ruby Ridge echoes in deadly Madison Heights FBI shootout

The Metro Detroit man killed during a shootout with FBI agents Friday served an 11-year prison sentence for shooting at two police officers, was an adherent of an anti-government movement and played a minor role in the infamous Ruby Ridge standoff, one of the darkest chapters in federal law enforcement history.

No word yet if any windows were harmed during the shootout.

That's true. For all we know, the snack van is filled with ammonium nitrate and heading towards a federal building right now.

Hey, the Riot Kitchen bus had its windows preemptively smashed and its occupants arrested. Cause it was, you know, getting gas to maliciously transport *checks notes* food for people.

Another right wing whoopsie:

The FBI says it broke up a violent militia plot to kidnap the governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer.

Authorities say members of the scheme talked about murdering ‘tyrants’ or ‘taking’ a sitting governor before FBI agents raided a home in Michigan on Wednesday.

Remember that time antifa plotted to assassinate a governor because they didn't like wearing masks during a pandemic?
