Retired NASA "expert" Inspires Balsamo Fraud?

I suspect that they only react to complaints. And I've never reported anyone in ~25000 posts over 7 years on ~6 forums. Certainly cannot interpret their own rules to satisfaction of this sort of lawyer type person.

I carved up an M_K post with surgical precision. Then got told the whole post was a personal attack.

Well if logical responses against posts are personal attack....may as well advertise on front page "Reasoned Rational Thinking Not Welcome"

Biggest risk here is if you say something sensible and "on topic" in the middle of a string of "off topic" stuff. The lot gets moved 'en bloc' to AAH. So you have to make the same brilliantly inspired, incisive and accurate comments again. If you can remember WTF you were talking about. :o

I suspect you are correct. I've been reporting every p4t post that he links to his forum for "spamming/advertising", lol. Over the past week he has been dialing that back considerably. :D

Yeah - I know - but admitting it would spoil the joke. I tend to avoid posting brilliant material in the middle of off topic troll feeding frenzies.

Precisely. That is based saved for the on-topic troll-feeding frenzies. :)

While unconscious

In the interest of honesty though, Balsamo's point was that no civilian aircraft and certainly no humans, could survive 11.2g. The matter is moot though, given that the application of physics in the paper was so incredibly convoluted and utterly wrong.
The arithmetic was correct but just because one can add 2+2 and get 4 as the result does not make the result correct if what should have been added was 3+3.

Pylon racers pull 11+ but only for very short periods.
Every kook and their dog seem to have posted the most astonishing claims about G on the Net

I should have been more specific. Airline pilots and passengers would be unconscious at +11 g. It seems to me that the way this was 'deduced' would have been, had the physics been applied correrctly, an average g loading over the time period in question.

Likewise.

I am sort of surprised that I've only been dinged twice for B/F/T during the time that balls-ammo has been there. Many more times than that I've crossed well past the line.

Kind of bummed to see the recent "crackdown" in that section though... for 7 years I have been treating the truther scum with the contempt that they deserve, not worried about calling them out on their BS. Not being able to freely blast them takes so much of the fun out of it. :)

Welcome! :)

I really try not to be disrespectful in debate, but if there is anyone deserving of contempt it would be Rob Balsamo. He cries about my one post in that ACARS thread and yet has subjected me to far worse far more times over the years. It's pathetic really.

Oh and in case anyone was wondering, I am 505 (505 spelled backwards) over there. Haha.

That is frigging hilarious LOL

Pretty much correct
I pulled 3 in a steep turn and had an interesting stall to recover from :)
The conspiracy kooks have no idea as to what G can be pulled or waht happens therafter

The P4T invasion has scared off the resident trivial trolls.

And the rebuttal of P4T has raised the debate standards despite the primary tactic of P4T being personal attack...

...and their strategy of not making a claim which limits me somewhat. But I'm not about to change my ROE's.

Its all a moot point since pft was so very wrong in their calcs anyway. They used their result to say that the FDR was faked/ that anything pulling 11.2 g could not be a civilian aircraft.

To my knowledge the page is still up on their website, though they added a disclaimer. They never truly admitted their mistake nor corrected it, instead they produced a different tact at arriving at the g's pulled in the last seconds. Almost as badly done with an equally ridiculous final result.

When I was in college if you did calculations and got a ridiculous number as a result you were better served to assume your method of arithmetic were at fault than to assume that number was correct.

I loved his recent day-long tirade against me for my alleged attempt to derail his thread when I was doing no such thing. I ended up putting him on ignore.

A civil airliner at 11+G with wings still attached??? I'm no flier but is it possible to manoeuvre an airliner to get 11G?

"They" showed a few pics with location data plotted which showed a take-off occurred over open farmland a few hundred metres of and parallel to the runway.

Well, given the choice of take off from farmland and data was wrong or was plotted wrong...I know where my choice would go.

BUT I'm not a pilot.

Again, rather than assume a mistake had been made, in this case, iirc, the INS was not set correctly in the a/c, they leapt with both feet to a conclusion that the FDR data was faked.

The INS has errors when it starts, you tell it where it is, and it aligns the best it can, and tells you where it thinks it is. The darn thing has errors .2 to 1.0 nautical mile. It drifts during flight and is updated by the system from DME/DME, and VOR/DME for 77, and now it would have GPS updates.
Balsamo has to lie and say only military aircraft can update INS, and puts out a few lies to make up the big lie, the FDR is not 77 - and he has all the previous flights for 77 from the FDR data.

Did he have another meltdown or what?

I don't think there were any posts removed, or it would have reflected that he had visited later than his last post. He didn't show as having visited after his final post in the ACARS thread, so I can only assume it was something else.

Probably his ranting about Boonyzorc that did it

Most likely. And is that an intentional typo? Or were you obscurely referring to "hit the troll with the Elvish sword"... ? ;)

Well, I don't know if it was a day long, and I must admit that as far as being on topic in terms of the OP itself he did have a point. But that point kind of gets lost when "responding to other's posts" become fair game, and you were most definitely responding to content within the thread appropriately in my opinion.

Which thread?

Would have to start from here, and Henry David's response to really get full context. A slight cross-thread response by Mark F, but it's not like that is really all that uncommon in forums is it? If Rob-bob-bo-bov-banana-rama-fo-fov-me-my-mo-mov...Rooo'b were capable of paying attention to things, he would have noticed the legitimacy and appropriateness of Mark F's response.

Cheers.

Balsamo seemed like he was stalking you. What do you think? His cult members stalk me, know my kids names and make up lies about me. No big deal, my four daughter are much tougher than Balsamo who can't hit the WTC in a simulator.

It's nothing more than school yard bullying tactics. I'm sorry to see it go into your private affairs and family. My two would be equally strong - mother is tougher than me.

It's been an eye opener for me - the lack of reasoning skills allied with dishonesty.

Since they clearly have nothing to offer on 9/11 matters other than technical mendacity the personal attack stuff is all they have.

His "research" about me could be for various reasons, but most likely he was looking for some way to discredit me. That's all he can try to do because he can't confront the core points of my argument. All he has left is this continuous effort to poison the well.

Consider the things he focused on.
  • My anonymity. (Gee Rob, why would I give you or your minions my address?)
  • The choir reference on my FB page. (Even after hints he still didn't realize I had randomly added that simply because it started with "Boon"... How thick does one have to be to not notice and realize that?)
  • My slinging of insults in one post in the ACARS thread. (Not a word of which was untrue).

Speaking of that one post, I still find it hard to believe that I was actually thread banned for that. After reading it again... honestly? That was bad enough to permanently remove me from that discussion? Maybe the laughing stock reference? Oh well, no changing it now I suppose. I hope this doesn't constitute an infraction of rule 6a...

At any rate, yes I do believe that he could have had many reasons to "research" me, none of them with good intention, and I wonder if he is now trying to dig deeper with this extra time he has found on his hands... :p
