Merged ReThink911 - a Richard Gage ad campaign

I have to admit, it's relatively brilliant for Gage to include the word "Think" in the name of this campaign. It creates the illusion that he's actually doing it.

The average has been around $330 donated per day in the last 6 days, with more than $900 collected in one single meeting by Team San Diego, bringing the overall amount to 11,675 collected by all cities (none of which looks like they are getting anywhere near the matching threshold soon). Hardly any donations in the last 2 days, though. With 29 days to go, if they keep this average (and AE911 doesn't push some money around again to spice up the numbers) this will amount to around $21,000 of an expected $300,000. Team New York City, which is supposed to spearhead the campaign, has collected $95 of $35,000 so far, btw.

Way to go New York!!!

We can all laugh at this, but it does raise some significant issues. As I've said before, it points to the way in which the 1500 presumably affluent and well-paid architect and engineer member/signatories are not very active. It appears that almost none of them have done anything other than allow their name to be used on an Internet website. They don't petition other professionals or contribute money.

So JREF Truther professionals like Tony Szamboti need to show something more than vague statements about conversations held in the back of garage. If it's so obvious, where's the money?

The truth shouldn't need money.

Sure it should. But a message this urgent with all these big-degreed experts that we keep hearing about shouldn't have any trouble raising it for an issue so urgent - and we are told obvious.

The Great Wiki, source of all things true, tells us that Greenpeace is enormously wealthy and active.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenpeace
Budget €236.9 million (2011)
Staff 2,400 (2008)
Volunteers 15,000

I'd like to ask Gage about this because it's clear his many members are not producing the money he needs.

I guess I'm asking too much for Tony Z or someone else to address this.

I had already been monitoring incoming donations daily, but then my internet modem at home broke and it took me 2 weeks to replace it (I was stingy :D), so no private surfing.

Looking at the "Update" tabs of many city teams, I find that about 70% of all dollars collected in the last 16 days came in on only three consequtive days, 11, 12 and 13 days ago.
This coincides with Gage sending out a newsletter to his mailing list (presumably all signers, plus those who signed up for the newsletter) on June 7th/8th. Title: Launching ReThink911.org: A $600,000 Global Ad Campaign Coming This September

His 19,000+ "members" are a real asset - he can conveniently ask them for money now and then.

It's not very different from other religions. Every now and again, they send out an appeal for donations for this or that. Some of the faithful say yes, and the show goes on for another little while.

Where does it say how much money they have raised? Nowhere. Gage busted his butt to raise $20,000 for the failed college outreach project last fall. The entire annual budget of AE is not much more than $300,000. It's easy to make a pledge but not deliver. I pledge to deliver the moon on a silver platter the day after Gage gets his act together. An easy pledge because he never will.

He might have a point there. The way Fundly processes its donations it is actually possible for administrators of a campaign to manually add amounts of their choice to the donation pool without this money ever being transferred to an account or confirmed by Fundly, so if funds are listed on the donation page, it does not necessarily mean that they have been actually committed to the campaign yet (or even exist, for that matter). Apparently most of the money claimed to be available for Rethink911 is actually those "matching funds", and at the moment it looks like AE911truth - or whoever their mysterious sugar daddies are - will never have to pay those out (or only a small part of it).

It's very unfortunate that the 9/11 Truth organization that has the greatest amount of credible scientific information on its website and raises the most money ($300,000 a year, of which Gage's salary is $85,000 plus AE pays his rent and all his expenses) is so poorly led and unorganized.

That's interesting. So, even if you don't count traveling costs it should still be considerably more than $85,000, with some of the expenses being hidden behind other positions. I wonder if he even pays for his car. However, if the dasastrous current campaign is a reflection of the overall situation, Gage will probably have to tighten his belt or look for a new job soon.

AE911T is Gage's cash cow. He's never make the money he takes from AE if he had to work as an architect. That's pretty obvious. While he might "work" a lot... he's got all sorts of perks and benefits in his job as the 9/11 guru. Really.. there's little to no there there. Is he self delusional or a self aware scammer? Or both?

i think its the self aware scammer; drawn in by leading an organization of thousands with some adoration in the ranks. Better than being a mediocre project architect which he was before 9/11

He is now a somebody rather than nobody. He will never give that up

Wow, that's a major smackdown.

Mark Graham, being an actual insider, calling Gage a failure! And yet, Gage's is the biggest Twoof success story today! Imagine how bad all the rest are then!

E-Mail: [email protected] (or perhaps used to be)

Mark has his own petition set up last year - it was a failure like every other truther petition - I blogged about it a year ago. Basically, there was hope expressed (although not by Mark himself) that this would "go viral", "grow exponentially" and might reach a "million signatures". Of course it never went viral - it fizzled off after the first month. Here is a graphic on a scale of 1 million signatures / 3000/day (what it wouild take to get 1 million in a year), as of early April:

I think what Mark is coming to realize that no one in the entire Twoof Movement is reaching any goals that go beyond appealing to a fringe group of just a few thousand faithful nation-wide, even world-wide. He really should think hard about why that is. It has only a little to do with leadership.

I'm trying to recall. Has Gage actually ever followed through on any of these advertising campaigns?

Sure he produces promotional material but, has he ever actually followed through on the promise of using main stream distribution?
