Merged ReThink911 - a Richard Gage ad campaign

I stopped by their "Times Square" rally as Gage was finishing speaking. There were probably 100-120 people seated along the road and hardly anyone stopping to listen.

So Gage, currently the biggest name in Trutherdom, who apparently has access to thousands of architects and engineers who could be doing important research on this topic instead chose to spend in excess of $300,000 on some ads in order to,... get 120 people to hang out on a sidewalk and hear him speak?

If they had used that money to pay people $1,000 each just to show up and hang out for a bit they would have had nearly 3 times the turnout.

Oh yeah, the Truth Movement is really gaining momentum after 12 years.

The group behind an ad campaign questioning the official explanation of 9/11, which is running on OC Transpo buses, says its message should be protected as free speech.

The group called Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth have launched a global ad campaign called "ReThink911," which is running in other cities including New York and Toronto.

The campaign takes aim at the U.S. government's explanation that World Trade Centre 7 — the "third tower" — fell as the result of fire.

The theory is part of the group's larger beliefs that the collapse of the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001, was not the result of a terrorist attack but part of a vast conspiracy and cover-up within the U.S. government.

Carleton University student Andres Acero first spotted one of the group's ads aboard an OC Transpo bus earlier this week. A volunteer with a campus first responders group, Acero said he thinks the ads are disrespectful to the first responders who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attack.

"Take it down. There should be no reason why it's on there. Just take it down. Maybe send an apology to the families of Sept. 11 and all the victims," said Acero.

Transit commission chairwoman Diane Deans agreed, saying while it was a "difficult challenge" to balance the constitutional right to free speech with community acceptability, she thought the ads were "insensitive."

Deans said she would ask for a review of OC Transpo's ad policies at the next transit commission meeting.
Group says campaign sponsored by 9/11 victims

Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth responded on Thursday, taking issue with the notion they were being insensitive to run the campaign. They also said their campaign is sponsored by a group representing more than 100 victims' family members.

"To Councillor Deans and to all who question our sensitivity and legal right to run the ReThink911 ads, we would like to make clear: the ReThink911 coalition includes 9/11 victims’ family members who want nothing more than an accurate and unbiased accounting of the death of their loved ones," the group said in a letter published on their website.

Mayor Jim Watson also weighed in on Thursday, calling the ads "disrespectful" but saying he wouldn't ask to have them removed.

"At the end of the day they met the Advertising Standards Council's standards and they are allowed on the buses," said Watson.

"The transit comission can certainly review those and I encourage them to do so. We disagree with the message but you know, free speech is an important principle in our society."
They have family members of victims on their side?

Bob McIlvaine (his son died in the WTC) is the only one I've heard speak up.

100 family members is a meagre amount, if you take into account how many 9/11 victims there were and how many relatives each would have.

Plus, I think AE911T would be classing second-cousins twice removed as "family members", like they do when they accuse GW Bush's distant relatives of their activities.

Ugh. I guy used to respect fell down the truther well. Damn you "rethink 911"

Every year on 9/11 I post the video of Bill Maher calling truthers nutcases on my facebook page. Usually i get a bunch of likes and an occasional "wtf is a truther?"

then this pops up

"he problem that I see is that most people who bash "conspiracy theorists" is that they intentionally confuse and misrepresent arguments as to make them appear crazy. I think the biggest issue with the whole story is Building 7 and the Pentagon. But hey, I'm just going off of scientific evidence and what 2,000+ scientists and engineers have to say about the fishy-ness of the whole 'official story'."

He has also started posting all sorts of other woo. Especially about Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon. And it almost ALWAYS ends with "I'm just asking questions"

I think a good response to this "2000 scientists" business is to ask him, "What, exactly, have these "2000 scientists" ever contributed to the truth movement?"

I've asked that question before:

http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219881

...and so far, no one has been able to point to any original work done by A&E9/11 that was the result of their work as architects, engineers or scientists.

This entire group does nothing but rubber-stamp theories created and promoted by non-scientist Conspiracy Theorists, most of which existed prior to A&E being created. A&E have never pointed out anything that these non-scientists got wrong, nor have they ever pointed out something that these non-scientists missed in their analysis.

As such, A&E are nothing more than a huge appeal to authority, merely lending that supposed authority to arguments created by uneducated laypeople.

Did anyone hear anything from the rather special truther Steven E Jones ?

Gage already searching for more $$$ due to the questioning of his ad's.

ReThink911 is commissioning the polling firm YouGov to conduct a national survey on Canadians’ impressions of Building 7’s collapse and their support for our right to advertise on Ottawa’s public bus system—but we need your help to do it. Please help us raise $6,000 by Saturday, September 14 so that we may conduct this poll on Monday and have the results by the end of next week.

They have finally released the results of the new YouGov opinion poll for ReThink911, which included showing the subjects the following clumsily manipulative video - a silent and heavily edited compilation of 7WTC collapse clips - then asking them if they thought it was a "controlled demolition".

The results of this Argumentum ad Looks Like, they claim in big bold letters, show that "1 in 2 Americans Have Doubts About the Government Account of 9/11" and that "most Americans are open to alternative 9/11 theories".

There were also some recurring questions in there that were already asked in the 2011 Siena poll for Remember Building 7 - but this mostly didn't turn out as planned for them, as the below example shows:

Assumed cause of the collapse of 7WTC (if aware of):
Old poll: 49% fire, 24% explosives
New poll: 60% fire, 17% explosives

.................

Evaluation of the "Assumed cause of the collapse of 7WTC (if aware of):"
poll indicates unanimous and unchanged results:

Old poll: 49% fire are 100% correct, 24% explosives are 100% wrong.
New poll: 60% fire are 100% correct, 17% explosives are 100% wrong.

i replied "before you start talking about 2000 architects and engineers you may want to see what fields those '2000 architects and engineers' actually practice in"

his response was "they are all aerospace, structural, and chemical engineers who are all experts in building demolition"

Popular Mechanics and your poll and the ever lying MSM agree with you.

Actually, those stats for the new poll are before they brainwashed them with their cropped collapse video.

But these stats show a similar trend to what you thought:

7WTC was a controlled demolition?:
Old poll: 24%
New poll: 15% (after watching the video).
