The surgeon in the press conference said it entered and exited her skull. If it didn't hit the brain, it surely bruised the hell out of it.

Naah, no million for you on this - you are simply correct, brain/head needs time to start healing after the double shock of shooting and surgery. Not enough (thankfully) for putting into coma (Gupta covered that nicely!) but still the close equivalent certainly needed.

Well whatever you do don't utter these sunbeams of optimism to anyone involved. Their own "humble opinion" is unlikely to be the same.

That's all very well and good, and you are more than entitled to your opinion, but it does not address your suggestion that the proper treatment for a sick person who had committed such a crime as a result of mental illness is to torture them.
 
the problem with finding someone innocent by reason of insanity, is that they can be put in a mental hospital for 5 years...and then released if the doctors think he is safe for society.

if the guy truly is "insane", he still needs to be locked up for the rest of his life. in a hospital? sure. but for the rest of his life.

Is this a newer press conference? he one I watched with a surgeon from the hospital said it went through the brain.

the key word in my post was "if". meaning it was a conditional statement.

"if", means we do not know yet.

"if", means he could be....or he may not be.

Yeah, getting shot in the head isn't lucky. It's just not. If there is a god, he clearly hates her and all the other victims, including the child.

Yep, you do. You also need (no offense) to get around more. A lot of people out there and in here are way concerned about politics as they are done and are concerned about the tendency of the baggers and some regular republickers to be talking literally about gun use if they can't "take back" what they seem to think of as their country. If you have evidence of any but some random communist party holder ons somewhere in the US doing this on the Democratic side of things (I know of none), let me know. Local sheriff and others (others not here) have been agreeing on many of those points.

Only one p.c.( directly after the surgery) and the surgeon did say exactly what you are quoting/noting him as saying.:)

A person in a psychotic state would not likely be influenced by threatened consequences. Their thought processes wouldn't be registering the real world.

How can you blame a person whose brain is as dysfunctional as someone in a psychotic state? We aren't talking about someone who doesn't care about their actions, we are talking about someone who is unaware of reality.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with this kind of brain malfunction.

if someone shot that Congressman 6 days after the video came out, I'd be urging the Congressman's family to file a civil case against the makers of he video.
