Religious figures reincarnated (Split from: Pope responds question from atheist)

If it -were- a theory it would make testable predictions. As things stand, it's like trying to find homeopathic traces of fermented milk products in Mr. Wensleydale's cheese shop.

True. A theory attempts to explain something. What is Kathie trying to explain? There is not a person in the world who is asking themselves ''What has happened to Jesus? Could he be holed up on Ganymede''? She is the only one with that fantasy.

Can I take it that you do not call her bizarre fantasy a theory?

I don't know what to think to be quite honest. I was trying to say on here that posters who say they are not interested or mock posters shouldn't really reply, just ignore it and move onto threads that interest one. But that's just my opinion

No skeptic in this thread has stated that they are not interested. I don't know where you got that from. There are dcotors, pyschologists and pyschiatrists here who find people like Kathie very interesting. I find the woo threads highly entertaing. Better than the garbage on TV.

Rather than 'not interested' maybe I should have said, 'nonbelievers' in the paranormal

mstricky, allow me to explain something. When I was younger I believed in the paranormal and the ocuult. Ley lines, telepathy, pyramid power, telekinesis. You name it, I believed it. In particular I believed that I could dowse with a pendulum. When I started I had some lucky hits. I used to shuffle a pack of cards and then dowse the top card, I used to try and dowse how many matches were in a box and various other futile things. Then I started keeping a record and I soon discovered that my hits were no more than expected by chance. So I started doing real research into the paranormal. I've always had access to a good reference library. Over the years I discovered that there was not a shred of real evidence for all the woo that I believed in. I am a skeptic in the true sense of the word. Somebody comes here with a paranormal claim, I say ''Prove it. Show me the evidence''. I do not say that the paranormal does not exist, only that I have never seen any evidence that would convince me. I'm a member here because I enjoy the company, I learn a lot from people who know what they are talking about and hopefully encourage others to be skeptical about occult and paranormal claims.

That's very interesting. We all have ideas/experiences etc. i was brought up a christian.... But as we all know, we are obviously brainwashed from birth. Had I been born of jews I would be jewish etc. at about aged 40 I began to disbelieve after prayer after prayer was not answered ( ask and yee will be given ) i became an atheist and still am. I read the bible about three times in the past three yrs and I find it incredible as to how many discrepancies/conflicting facts are in there, so much so it is laughable but we were always threatened not to question the bible. I see why that is now..... We can see straight through it and how ridiculous it is.
But I truly have had dreams in which my dead colleague told me the name of the drug gang leader. Me and him both worked in investigation and dealt with drugs etc. i loved him he was a great guy and we were close.
The murdered girl in my dream I absolutely didn't know and the dream came out if the blue but I do wonder if that night, that dream went out to thousands of people but perhaps only I took it to be a message. I have no answers but am truly sincere in what I have said on here.
It doesn't matter if no one believes me, I know what is true to me.
I didn't come on here to relate my experiences of dreams. I initially came on here about the Alpha course but it developed into dreams.
I am truly a run of the mill granny and live a normal life.
Just terrified of the messages I have had and can't explain the fear they created
Afterall who does want to know that the dead can contact earthlings!!!!!

For me it's simpler: replying Kathie's posts and dissecting her notions is a matter of public order. It's the cost we pay to have free speech and public order put together (others have found easier having public order without free speech or free speech without public order, but don't be tempted into that cheaper way)

If you were truly sceptical and not interested, you wouldn't even bother to look in the thread. IMO

Being truly sceptical and interested are not mutually exclusive.
I am very interested in the delusional things people believe

I would be interested in hearing how Kathie travelled from reality into believing that Jesus lives on Ganymede.

Not interested? We're absolutely fascinated. Who wouldn't be, by such a bizarre fantasy?

It seems like "bizarre" is your favorite adjective, it elevates a debate to an entirely different level.
As for me, there are other expressions, such as "what if?"

This is news to me, I don't know who on this forum invented it. If somebody wants to quote me, please make sure your quote is correct.

Religion has nothing to do with telepathy. What I am saying over and over again on this forum, is that I have defined dreams as telepathy in the sleeping state. Everybody has it, like sight and hearing, it is just a matter of developing your ability to understand that some thought that occur in your own head may be involuntary, and that is telepathy: someone else is talking to you through your own head.
And believe me, some of the people who will ridicule you most for saying it, are the ones who are already using it on others. As an example, remember the Son of Sam murders in the USA? (if not, google it). I have reason to believe that somebody was telepathically coercing him. Some policeman in my own city dabbled in the subject and tried it on me. Like in everything else, there are always some who find ways of abusing any subject.

You seem to have some comprehension issues here, or is just manipulating for a desired effect by trying to tie what I am saying about Jesus to what I am saying about Ganymede, although the two topis are totally unrelated.

Their paws and whiskers twitch when they dream.

I've been able to figure out that my dog was dreaming of being at the park and chasing a Frisbee (which she used to do often, not so much any more). Her paws twitched as though she was running, then her back paws twitched as she dream-leaped and her jaws snapped as she tried to catch the Frisbee. Then her jaws snapped again; she must have missed the catch in her dream. Signifies nothing, but it was fascinating to watch.

''Ch 11 A select group of extra-terrestrials demonstrate that language barriers
are bridged by telepathy. They are from Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s largest moons. Introduction to some of these
people who have in former lives lived on Earth, Da Vinci, Galileo, Blaise and Etienne Pascal,Descartes and Marie Curie.''

Without Jesus it makes perfect sense. You wrote that, do you really believe it?

Did we ever find out how Jesus managed to have a sister called Veronica?*

*This is one of the things I love about the JREF forum. Where else would you get the opportunity to type that sentence?

True. A theory attempts to explain something. ...
.
A theory explains something sufficiently well that to deny it is perverse.
But all theories can be improved on or even discarded, when better evidence is found.
But this one, relying on imagination and wishful dreaming is immune to testing.
