Really? What does it explain?
Your bitterness
Really? What does it explain?
That's fine but you see the difficulty we have with your claim? It has as the same meaning to us as the person who believes in leprechauns. There are prosaic answers why you think what you think without there being any god. In fact, the prosaic answers are more parsimonious. Given that there are so many contradictory beliefs that can't all be correct then it is easy to simply say that if some must be wrong then of what value are such beliefs? The person who worships Vishnu and the fact that he worships vishnu is of no value to you no matter how confident the person is who believes in Vishnu. Why should what you believe be of any value to any of us?I can say that for me they are not.
I honestly did not know.I'm about to find out, you do know I have failed it once?
I may or may not take the challenge again.
Your answers tend to be rhetorical and not argument. If you are simply looking for rhetorical responses the task can be daunting. However, if you are presented with an easy to understand and coherent argument all you have to do is attack the logic of the argument. It’s like the answers and links just pop up, very strange because I’m at a loss and then there it is.
Even assuming that Beleth is bitter what basis do you have for a causal connection?Your bitterness
Beleth doesn't like me very much, and went on this tirade against me the first thread I posted in. She irrationally demanded that I join another website to talk to some guy who everyone else said was a jerk anyway. Why do you say that?
You are quick on the draw. You missed my edit.Beleth doesn't like me very much, and went on this tirade against me the first thread I posted in. She irrationally demanded that I join another website to talk to some guy who everyone else said was a jerk anyway.

Your response is a non-sequitur.Her overreaction to an innocuous comment on the future of Pentateuchal studies, and the ineffectiveness of past methodologies.
Your response is a non-sequitur.
When ice cream sales increase so does the rate of people swimming.
One doesn't have anything to do with the other.
So, what basis do you have for a causal connection?
"No it isn't" what?No it isn't...
Anecdotal. Your reason is the reason why there is so much strife in the world. People choose subjective anecdotal experience over objective reasoning. You need to change your user name....her sensitivity makes a lot more sense given her Mormon upbringing. At least, based on my experience.
Feel free to deconstruct this into whatever you want.

There is no need to deconstruct anything. The basis for your belief is demonstrably fallacious.
Why are you only now making this point?I was also being intentionally ironic, as she made statements earlier in the thread of a similar nature regarding myself
I'm having difficulty grasping your the purpose of this. I agree that you cannot know exactly what another person's feelings and experience are unless they tell. What does that have to do with the point at hand? Now, I know this will not satisfy you, and honestly I could care less. You cannot know exactly what another person's feelings and experiences are unless they tell. In a roundabout way, that is exactly the point I am making.
because it is less potent if I say it plainly, it is more meaningful if she realizes it herself. Why are you only now making this point?
That's because you weren't around for an earlier exchange in this very thread. It is hilarious that you jumped to all sorts of conclusions then try to act like I have been committing all sorts of logical fallacies. Your own argumentation could be returned at you almost verbatim.I'm having difficulty grasping your the purpose of this. RR

I was also being intentionally ironic, as she made statements earlier in the thread of a similar nature regarding myself...
No, that's not what I'm talking about. Why didn't you say that when I asked you about it?because it is less potent if I say it plainly, it is more meaningful if she realizes it herself.
Hilarious? Really? Did you or did you not say "No it isn't, her sensitivity makes a lot more sense given her Mormon upbringing."That's because you weren't around for an earlier exchange in this very thread. It is hilarious that you jumped to all sorts of conclusions...
No....then try to act like I have been committing all sorts of logical fallacies. Your own argumentation could be returned at you almost verbatim.
Hold on, something doesn't make sense. If you thought she was unfair to draw such are ridiculous connection then why would you say "makes a lot more sense given her Mormon upbringing."
You are slipping and sliding here. The first statement is utter nonsense. It is bigoted and irrational. Do you accept that or not?
It a bigoted and unenlightened opinion. Like I said, such opinions are at the heart of much of the strife of the world. It is my opinion...
I think you should keep it to yourself simply because the opinion is bigoted....but I only stated it to make a point. Normally, I would just keep something like that to myself because for all I know, she may treasure her Mormon upbringing.
So was the flatness of the Earth, and by more people.1 through 3 were witnessed.
I would if I didn't know it was a lie, and it was a lie that made death not sound so bad. Or are you telling us that the nineteen 9/11 hijackers really are enjoying the company of 72 virgins in Paradise right now?Would you die to perpetuate a lie?
It a bigoted and unenlightened opinion. Like I said, such opinions are at the heart of much of the strife of the world.
Jews are _________
Protestants are __________
Catholics are ___________
Muslims are __________
Fill in the blank.
Being that it is the 21st century and all perhaps it's time we gave up stereotypes.
I think you should keep it to yourself simply because the opinion is bigoted.
I never said that.Apparently in RR's world, the only bitter folks are Mormons.
No, you hounding me through the whole thread demanding I talk to someone at a different forum because I follow the Literary school of thought rather than some outdated German deconstruction. Also apparently, pointing someone to someone who can correct their errors in knowlege is "irrational".
Also also apparently, being taught something is equivalent to being raised in a certain tradition.
The more I am exposed to RR's world, the more I am glad I do not live in it. But that's just because I'm a silly 18-year-old Mormon lesbian.
