Psycho Test

It only means you fell into the hilarious logical trap cunningly set by whichever 13-year-old schoolchild or bored office-worker dreamed it up. It must be quite the thrill to hear or read that something you created is still doing the rounds and affecting people 15 years or more later.

All this means is that I can understand psychos, not that I am one.
So you can understand why people would go out and murder defenseless people, or even worse kill lots of children?

If you got the anwser to the question right, it means nothing. Firstly it is a lie i.e. it was not a psychological test, it not even clear that a psycho would get the correct anwser. So without testing this on psychos we wouldn't know if they instantly gave the correct anwser. Secondly, you can't pin down a complex human behaviour to a simple question, if you got the anwser right it means nothing.

First I thought that the man was her sister's lover.

Then I realized the truth. The man was her sister after her sex change!

So what's my psychological profile?

I guessed the same thing as Tsukasa Buddha. At least I have company in my strangeness.

I made the same conclusions! So with you Hokulele at least I know I'm in good company - crazy but cool. Sweet.

I also thought that maybe the whole story was a red herring and she killed her sister because she had terminal cancer and she wanted to be euthanized.

I thought the same.

Perhaps we can form a support group? :stone028:

the test they used on 'most evil' was not at all like the ops test.....

the way their test worked was that a series of events were illustrated on a few cards, and the person being examined was supposed to arrange them in order. (the example deck was a kid playing w/matches on the first card, a fire starting on accident on the next, then the fire department coming, the fire being put out etc). According the the psychologist on that show psychopathic people have a much harder time understanding cause and effect than most people.

According to the test, I'm a psychopath.

According to Snopes, I'm not.

I'd better go ask mother... :hypnotize

Oh dear, I guess I must be a psychopath. I'll have to tell my shrink next time I see him. He'll be upset that his diagnosis of my problem is all wrong. Poor guy - he may turn in his diploma.

Really, I can't imagine anyone not getting the answer. The guy showed up to her mother's funeral probably because he was some sort of friend to the family or at least had a connection with the mother. The woman had no way to contact the man and didn't even know who he was; therefore, she had to find a way to meet him again. It was reasonable (if twisted) to assume he'd show up to the funeral of another member of the immediate family.

I was thinking the guy was her long lost father she had never met, she took a quick and dirty tumble with him in the cloakroom from which he quickly disappeared after, and then she took that "morning after" pill when she found out who he had been later from her aunt or something.

I think the thread title gives a clue to the intent of the puzzle, and may have influenced some trains of thought.

Best answer so far!

My favorite psychology test story from Emo Phillips:

And he gives me a chocolate Easter bunny. And this shows how tricky those guys are. I eat the chocolate and I think, wait a second... this isn't around Easter. "Was this a test?" He said, "Yes." "And what does it mean?" He said, "Well, had you eaten the ears first you would have been normal; had you eaten the feet first you would have had an inferiority complex; had you eaten the tail first you would have had latent homosexual tendencies; and had you eaten the breasts first you would have had a latent oedipal complex." I said, "Well, go on. What does it mean when you bite out the eyes and scream, 'Stop staring at me!'?'" He says, "It shows you've a tendency towards self-destruction." I said, "What do you recommend?" He says, "Go for it!"

I figured it was for the insurance money. After all, she already killed off her mother to collect on her, so the sister was the next logical choice. The man in the story is a red herring - he has nothing to do with anything.

What do I win?

What do you mean it doesn't say she killed her mother? I'm sure the giant talking hampster sitting on my frontal cortex left said it's in there somewhere.

Whoa! Glad you cleared that up for us. We were all taking it far too seriously, as one can tell from the responses. Several of us were heading off to sign up for therapy (and several others were heading off with a straight razor to ask their analyst(s) why they hadn't been advised of this).

I'm quite certain I was about to kill again when BAG spoke up.

ETA: Why is this in R&P, anyway?

And for being ignorant that it was obvious.
If it was obvious why didn't everyone stop the conversation. I was trying to kill this thread, it is painful reading through people saying "I can understand a killers mind". They say ignorance is bliss, however it was painful reading through the thread.

I am proberly the least ignorant in this forum, and I am the least blissful.

Also, how much can you read the same I'm a psycho joke? once is okay, however five posts of I thought I was normal, but I'm a psycho is not funny.

You attack me for stating the obvious. However, your doing it now.

Actually, Foolmewunz was making fun of you for stating the obvious.

I was just letting everyone know that you stopped me from killing again.

Killing my back with poor posture, that is. I had to sit up straight to type my response.

No more coffee for you, also that show was rubbish. Peak something??

It was called "Peak of Deception" and aired on Fox from 1995 - 1996.

The character in my avatar is Dan Coppola, a detective with the NYPD that is sent to a small town in upstate New York to investigate a series of strange murders.

Everything I say is a lie, becomingagodo.
