Title: Lights Out

Tag Line: His first night in jail could be his last

Synopsis: After several encounters with the law ex police officer Vincent "Vince" Rockwell is sent to a light security prison for a month. Ten years earlier toxic waste was buried under the prison. While they are doing some new construction in the prison, one of the barrels gets busted open. The inmates start to turn into zombies and Vince has to face his personal demons and the zombies until the next morning when he can try and get some help. After "Lights Out" his first night in jail could be his last night on earth.

We will shoot in August and it's a low budget shoot. We will charter a bus for cast and crew to West Virginia each Monday in August. It's a closed down jail there in Moundsville, West Virginia. Most of the script takes place in jail. We will depart at 8 a.m. and leave at 8 p.m. Monday the jail is closed but on the other days it's open to the public. This is why we are shooting the film on Mondays.

Parts that need to be filled.

Vincent "Vince" Rockwell - 35-40 year old male.

Maggie Rockwell - 30-35 year old female.

Lou Turner - 40-45 yr old male

Tiny Struthers - an inmate that's anything but "Tiny" who wants to get back at Vince for arresting him, 25-40 male.

Dr. Coleman - 35-40 year old scientist male.

Dr. Winters - 35-40 year old scientist male or female.

John Wheeler - 60-65 male and a business owner.

Jason Wheeler - 25-30 year old male and business owner.

Leland Bouchard - The fifth richest man in the world. 55-65 years old.

Tom Riley - Police Chief 50-60 years old.

Officer Roxxanne Platt - A sexy female security guard. Aged 23-30.

It's a trilogy so many of these parts will be returning hopefully.

Send Headshot and Resume via e-mail. I will return all e-mails with date and location of the audition by June 25th and also send you sides.

Thanks,

Work Your Hand Enterprises, LLC

It goes without saying that this is indisputable evidence that Zombies exist and that toxic waste is the primary cause of zombies........

Psychic Detectives Are Vague in Their Predictions

I watch the Psychic Detectives show from time to time, just to see how convincing they are (or rather aren't). After reading some of this thread, I watch the show last night and it was amazing how vague and non-committal the psychics were. I am paraphrasing, but one of the psychics said something like this about the victim, "I am feeling something around the head, pressure or something like that. Also, I feel he had more than one wound." The victim was hit on the back of the head, had multiple stab wounds, and had his throat slit. It's interesting how many other scenarios the same statement by the psychic would fit. To be fair, one of the psychics did say she thought he had his throat slit. But I like the way they are so tentative when they make their predictions and if they are off, they can just change it to fit.

A possible scenario where a predicted strangulation turns out to be a slit throat: I feel something happening in the neck area - victim was possibly strangled. Oh! He wasn't strangled, his throat was slit? Well, that must be what I was feeling in the throat area. [See, the psychic was right all along.]

There was very little that was convincing in the show. If anything, these pyschics are little more than pseudo-profilers. I have watched the show about profiler Dale Hinmann and she is a whole lot more impressive without being psychic. Is she right 100% of the time. No. But there are cases where her input does help police to find the perpetrator of the crime.

At the end of the Psychic Detectives show the said that police had no suspects and no perpetrator had been caught.

I am not convinced.

Nor should you be....

I've seen a lot of these shows where, despite the presentation of the psychic as being a valued contributor to the investigation, nobody was caught as a result of their involvement.

So what the heck was the point of the show?

Yeah, I watched a couple of these shows a while ago (not sure if it was actually Psychic Detectives). I was absolutely amazed at how they passed everything off as completely true and helpful and how the results wer being passed on to the police, but there was never any mention of anything actually happening as a result. There wasn't even any attempt to retrofit claims or anything like that it. It was simply "This psychic says there is a body in some water in this area. We have passed this on to the police. Isn't it amazing how she could tell this? Next week on Nonsense For The Reality Challenged...".

At least I can see how people can fall for cold reading, selective memories, retrofitting and the like. It's easy to do. But crap like this? There wasn't even any attempt to pretend the psychics actually did anything, it was all simply saying that they claim to be psychic and they said something about a crime, therefore it must be true and must have helped the police.

Glennmr78,

I have gotten the attention of some of the people on this board. They see the obvious flaw in the logic that's being presented in some of the posts and I'm sure more will follow suit.

The logic is this:

I think all the detectives on shows like Forensic Files and Dateline are liars because it's a TV show. I think there liars and stupid. I don't have a shred of evidence to back my claim but everytime one of these shows talks about a police case I refuse to believe it LOL.

Of course that's an argument Reductio Ad Absurdum but this is the illogical thinking of some skeptics.

Why are the detectives on Forensic Files and Dateline any more credible than the detectives on the show Psychic Detectives?

I haven't watched forensic files, but I would not consider Dateline a reliable source due to heavy editing and docu-drama format. Such shows have writers and producers and a vested interest in ratings. That essentially eliminates any scientific validity, which people on this board will point out quickly.

I think I will start my own Million Dollar Prize like James Randi. I will give the skeptic 1 million dollars if you can provide me evidence that every detective on the shows from Psychic Detectives is lying or stupid.

You could end up losing a lot of money.

Were not talking about psychics that say the name begins with H. Were talking about psychics who go to the police and tell them the killer went to school with the victim then psychic looks through her yearbook and points out the killer. The police then investigate that person and he confesses to the crime. This is all vouched for by the skeptical detective.

This is still anecdote. The psychic may have know the criminal or wanted to implicate someone or the performed the "reading" after the facts were already known. There is sufficient crime on the planet for the psychics to solve on a daily basis. But we never see headlines or statistically valid analysis of psychics solving crimes. So, even if there is some psychic ability out there, they are doing a really bad job. I don't think any criminals worry about psychics nailing them.

Do you still believe that Kathlyn Rhea is psychic? Yes or no.

It's a very simple question. You don't need to give lengthy explanations as to why. Just say either "yes" or "no".

In my year or so of lurking here, I don't think I have ever seen a woo answer a yes or no question. If there is a response, it will most likely be several paragraphs of verbal diarrhea. Followed by a demand of proving a negative.

Marcus: absolutely right. You can see the same behavior in the Conspiracy sub-forum.

"See it on TV, you just must believe."

It's very simple, classical objects (like your body) just appear classical because of decoherence. This is why you are conscious of "things" because decoherence causes the interference patterns that are associated with the particles in your body to remain hidden but they are still present. So your body is just a reflection of a more connected quantum nature. This is also do to entanglement. This is why the holographic principle shows up in alot of these theories.

This is shown in the double slit experiment. When a measurement occurs you get the appearance of a collapse of the wavefunction but the fullness of the wavefunction is still present it's just one state is observed.

Hello,

My name is Tim Brewer, and I would love to share some thoughts with you about my topic "The Department of Positive Out of Body Possibilities"

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thank you,
Tim

No, you already have a thread discussing it.

That's fine...I saw this before I saw your post in the other thread. I don't think he should hijack this thread though...

Woo-off, I like that.

Now that we have the math to communicate with thought, and repeat the process with humans for years to come, could it be possible for out of body afterlife thought to use such a device in the future, based on their past experience with such a device, and will we as humans, have the fore sight to have such a possibility available to them as well?

Example: I learn to scuba dive, to scuba dive.

I learned BrainGate, to communicate with all possibilities

Thank you,
Tim

Imagine scientist do not want to try my theory because they don't buy into it, but five minutes from now, somebody like Oprah, has an OBE; a level five like I had, and is so taken in by the experience, that she decides to check it out on the Internet and comes across my topic on one of the forum boards like the Near Death Experience ones ; not only does she believe in it as me now because of her new experience, but she is also amazed that she has been written in to the solution as well; as one of the possible positive scenario's as I am laying out to you right now. She sees what I want her to do, and maybe she will actually do it, or at least put me in a position to talk face to face with people in that field that can set me straight on the possibilities. She might decide to buy one of the machines and teach people in one of her schools on how to make it happen.

Certainly. You and Polomontana should contact Oprah right away.

If Oprah says it's true, I would believe it. After all she nailed "The Secret", didn't she?
