The violent usurpers you call the federal congress have decided to reduce the amount of resources they steal from the American public by a paltry 111 billion dollars next year. The 2011 annual budget for the United States is 3.82 trillion in expenditures. The annual amount of money stolen from the public through taxes is 2.17 trillion. This leaves a budget deficit of 1.65 trillion. 111 billion amounts to around a 3% cut in spending.

KC InfoZine reports:

H.R. 2560, the Cut, Cap and Balance Act would cut federal spending by $111 billion by next year, cap spending at 19.9 percent of gross domestic product by 2021 and require a balanced budget amendment. Spending has been below that mark, but recently has been above 20 percent of GDP.

The House debated the bill most of the day and voted after 8 p.m. Tuesday, passing it on a vote of 234 to 190.

...

Snipped for compliance with Rule 4. Do not copy and paste lengthy tracts of text available elsewhere. Instead, post a short quote and a link to the other source.

Steal? Usurpers?

You think those roads you drive on pay for themselves? The police you investigate crimes, the courts they're tried in, the soldiers that defend our country (among other things), the inspectors who make sure food is safe, you think all that is free?

Those are just more looters to Michael.

I don't think I should be able to eat for free.

I have to go into a grocery store and pay for the food I consume.

The grocery store does not need to send armed men to my home, hold a gun to my head, take my money, and then dump food into my lap that I didn't want in the first place.

If I want food, I'll pay for food on my own.

If I want police, I'll pay for police on my own.

If I want healthcare, I'll pay for healthcare on my own.

If someone loots me and then spends that money on a public project, it is no different than if they spent it on themselves. I'm still out the money and the economy is no better off than if the money had been left in private hands to begin with.

The government can not know the correct level of police needed. The government can not know the correct amount of healthcare spending needed. Only private markets can determine those things.

Buy Bitcoins, gold, silver, guns, ammunition, bulk food, water purifiers, medical gear, etc.. etc.. etc.. and prepare for the final implosion of the greatest ponzi scheme ever created in the history of mankind.

The US dollar.
The sentiment I hear on the street is largely that people think butt-kicking Obaby out of the office and taking the Senate is what is needed to actually get the problem fixed.

I certainly agree that it is not a certainty that if at this time the Republicans held all 3, they would actually fix the problem. But it would be interested to see to what extent they would do so.

What I'm seeing right now is smoke and mirrors and an attempt to push bad mathematics out on the people.

ANOTHER "Cpi Adjustment"???

Yeah, I have zero faith in the republican establishment to reduce spending by even a single penny.

I have 100% faith in economic reality to reduce spending down to the level of actual income, though. Sort of like saying "gravity works reliably".

As someone who has owned and operated numerous businesses that's what I've always had to do. Which leads to my "zero sympathy" point of view for anyone who claims it can't/won't/shouldn't be done.

I concur.

State violence can only hold the market at bay for so long.

Eventually the market will destroy the State that continues to defy it.

I for one am pleased that our overlords have agreed to loosen our chains just a little bit

There's something I don't understand... If the world is going to end any day now, for whatever reason, why prepare? What's the point?

If the US economy is going to collapse entirely and drive the world into chaos and anarchy, why would you stress yourself out now to prepare for attempting to live through that disaster time?

Why not use the present for entertainment? Spend what you have, and let the implosion kill you off while you're still happy.

Oh, wait.. Is it because you don't believe it will happen? You want to convince other people to waste their own money so you'll be better off?

Hammer. Nail. Head.

I have prepared.

I own junk silver to barter with, a large stash of storable food, firearms, ammunition, water filtration units, Bitcoins, and other urban survival necessities in the event that socialist chaos erupts from the discontinuation of State handouts or a breakdown of the monetary system.

The ponzi will come to an end. It is simply a matter of time.

It doesn't really matter if it is in a year, two years, or ten years from now. I know that this charade can not continue on forever. The US will collapse in the same manner as the Soviet Union and other socialist nations.

Bitcoins won't buy you anything now - what makes you think that in a time when you will need "urban survival necessities" and firearms that all of a sudden people will trade valuable food, tools or fuel for useless data?!

I can buy all sorts of stuff now with Bitcoins.

I'm not sure what you are talking about.

When the dollar breaks down, people will look for an alternative currency.

Since dealing in physical gold is cumbersome, I suspect Bitcoins will play a dominate role in the rebuilding of America.

If it gets to that point, you probably don't have an Internet connection (or won't for very long), which makes your bitcoins rather useless.

Whoops.

You see why Michael is so angry. He's all prepared for the collapse of society as we know it and it keeps not happening. He needs to be able to say "I told you so" as the world burns and he counts his Bitcoins.

Until the battery in his laptop runs down ;)
