I will be SO glad when this debate is not just past, but a week in the past, so CNN won't be spending 24/7 on it.

Frankly,the coverage the election so far has been a disgrace not just for CNN but for the media as a whole.

Agreed. Tonight's debate showed that the Dems have four good healthy choices that can go head-to-head with any Rep and win. What does Uncle Joe bring to the table that isn't already there?

Only two viable candidates really... Besides Clinton and Sanders, the other participants had performances to match their poll numbers which I find unfortunate.

I thought O'Malley did a creditable job - certainly a better speaker than any of the Republicans. He did push the Green Energy Grid proposal rather hard, don't know if it will be to his benefit or not. Hillary held off the challengers well and managed to promote her experience without seeming too smug, and was well prepared with her answers. Bernie hit the emotional tones perfectly, and made the most sense, but he was kind of shouty. In short I don't think too many voters were swayed last night but it was interesting to see them be so congenial to one another.

The election is, but this debate will fade away. They've got to get back to all Trump, all day pretty soon.

I was thinking exactly that myself, except I was thinking of a different word than 'fish'.

Seems like CNN in the lead-up to the debate spent more time talking about the guy who wasn't going to be there than at least 3 of the 5 guys who were. Talking about "Oh, by the way, we have an extra podium waiting for him, just in case! Look, here it is!".

He did say earlier this year that he would decide "sometime at the end of the summer." By any reasonable standard, the summer has ended. Then we heard from aides that it be by around the end of last month. It's well past the end of September. I wish the press would knock it off. I wish pollsters would too.

The candidate agreed to do a livestream of his day, on Tuesday. I think the self-certified ophthalmologist is getting a little ropy as his campaign frays around the edges. Part of the livestream was answering most-asked questions from Google. In answer to the question, "are you still running for president," he had this to say:

I wouldn’t be doing this dumbass livestreaming if I weren’t. So yes, I still am running for president, so get over it.

Uh, yikes.

Some talking heads on CNN this morning were talking about Ivanka Trump's support of Daddy and segued into Chelsea Clinton, wondering why she wasn't out on the stump for Hillary like eight years ago. Gee, you don't suppose it has anything to do with not having a year-old baby eight years ago, do you?

Rand Paul just told Wolf Blitzer that "Syria and Iraq have invited the Russians to fly over their airspace." I REALLY don't think Iraq has done that.

Maybe Carson is only in it for the money.

Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson has put his public campaign events on hold for two more weeks to go on book tour for his new tome “A More Perfect Union” and catch up on fundraising events.

This doesn't seem consistent with someone who wants to be prez.

Is Jeb! in trouble?

Conceived as a fundraising juggernaut that would “shock and awe” opponents into oblivion, Bush's campaign is suddenly struggling to raise hard dollars and increasingly economizing — not because he’s out of money, but to convince nervous donors, who are about to get their first look at his campaign's burn rate, that he's not wasting it.

That rationale doesn't pass the smell test.
