President Trump

This is making me think he has no intention of actually becoming President. But think of the ratings for that first show!

This is NBC placing what they hope to be high ratings ($$$) above all else including compromising the integrity of their news division. He's entitled to his royalties from the show. NBC doesn't have to continue airing it.

Trump is now being criticized because Congressman Charles Boustany of Louisiana (soon to be "former" Congressman Charles Boustany) is apparently under consideration for the post of US Trade Representative [USTR] in the Trumo Administration. Boustany has a reputation as a Free Trade advocate.
He's been in favor of all of the major free trade agreements Trump has stood in fierce opposition to. Boustany voted in favor of fast-tracking the Trans-Pacific Partnership and is a cofounder of the Friends of the TPP caucus. An unabashed free trader, he has voted in favor of trade agreements with Peru and South Korea, as well as trade promotion agreements with Panama and Colombia.

"The prospect of him as a USTR candidate makes Trump's trade campaign, campaign trade commitments, and focus seem extremely hypocritical," Lori Wallach, director and founder of Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch, told Business Insider. "I mean, it's a little bit like inviting Dracula to run your blood bank." Link

Michael Kinsley calls Trump a fascist in the actual, poli-sci sense:
All this seemingly erratic behavior can be explained — if not justified — by thinking of Trump as a fascist. Not in the sense of an all-purpose bad guy, but in the sense of somebody who sincerely believes that the toxic combination of strong government and strong corporations should run the nation and the world. He spent his previous career negotiating with the government on behalf of corporations; now he has switched teams. But it’s the same game.

Perhaps some of his fans could explain how they can call him a conservative.

Just think if he'd put Wall Street Bsnkers in to his Cabinet, the outcry among his supporters!
... erm? ... Ignore that.

The full statement is even better.

"The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history."

Not only is a month "a long time ago", but the 46th largest margin of victory out of 58 elections is apparently "one of the biggest".

Well tbh a 2 million majority in the popular vote is pretty big historically in absolute terms - shame it wasn't his ;)

Picky ... picky ... picky.

I'm sure Kellyanne can cheerfully expound interminably about why 46th out of 50 is just the same as "one of the biggest".

NBC said:
Donald Trump's transition team appeared to take a swipe at the Central Intelligence Agency Friday and call the spy agency "the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction."

Trump's team was responding to a Washington Post article published online Friday night that said the intelligence community has reached a "consensus" that Russia intervened in the presidential election to help Trump win, not just try and sow chaos in the process.

See the difference? It's really time to learn that known Fake News peddlers like the Washington Pest quoting unnamed officials and "sources" doesn't make it true. That goes for the morons at NBC as well, of course, but definitely for self-proclaimed "skeptics".

The New York Times is reporting U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded "with a high degree of confidence," that Russia did hack RNC computers during the 2016 presidential campaign but withheld releasing anything they'd found. That Russia was possibly trying to influence the election with the aim of helping Donald Trump win but that seems less clear..
It is unclear how many files were stolen from the Republican committee; in some cases, investigators never get a clear picture. It is also far from clear that Russia’s original intent was to support Mr. Trump, and many intelligence officials — and former officials in Mrs. Clinton’s campaign — believe that the primary motive of the Russians was to simply disrupt the campaign and undercut confidence in the integrity of the vote.

The Russians were as surprised as everyone else at Mr. Trump’s victory, intelligence officials said. Link to article

Trump has already attacked the report by saying, "These are the same people" who said Saddam Hussein had WMDs. Ironically, if you delve into the history, the intelligence community was actually telling the Bush Administration the reverse but Bush wouldn't listen.

Facts don't matter any more if they run counter to the GOP narrative

Ad hom attack against source without refutation of content; Unsupported well poisoning.

Par for the course.

As I recall, Cheney had to create a Special Presidential Intelligence Assessment Group (the actual name escapes me) to report that Saddam had WMD's, was working with Al Qaida, and everything else he wanted Bush to be told. The CIA refused to play ball.
