Say 20 hail Sagans before going to bed tonight.

Hail Sagan, man of space
the Force is with thee
Blessed art thou amongst authors
and blessed is the fruit of thy mind, Cosmos
Holy Sagan, doubter of God
Pray for us skeptics
now and for billions and billions of years. Amen

Not sure I like this. What I like about science is while it honors achievement, it doesn't deiify. Einstein while honored as maybe the greatest scientist of all time got a great many things wrong. I know you were being a bit tongue in cheek but having argued far too often with those who say things like science is just another belief, I try not to go there even humorously...because they inevitably take it seriously.

If we stopped making jokes because some people don't understand the jokes, there wouldn't be any jokes at all. If they misunderstand or misinterpret your jokes, they are bound to misunderstand or misinterpret your serious statements as well, so might as well get a chuckle or two out of it.

And this was not a 'bit' tongue in cheek, it was fully tongue in check.

It wasn't a bit tongue in cheek. It was entirely chewed off tongue in cheek.

AC, I think you're being a bit silly, here. If we can make jokes about dead babies, we sure can make jokes about venerating Sagan.

Im sure you're right. I think maybe my sense of humor is disappearing a bit. I once thought the idea of Trump becoming President was a joke. It's just not funny any more.

I just have gotten sick of people that deny evolution, global warming etc. Anything that challenges their beliefs whereas I believe we should constantly challenge and revise what we understand.

Trump's billionaire cabinet choices ascend via a literally golden elevator, through his diamond studded doors to tell him their plans to take healthcare & education from the poor.

But those billionaires are going to put the working class people first and foremost. Or something like that.

I just can't get over how people are so gullible that they think this group of elitist billionaires will give a damn about the poor or everyday joe.I hope the average American stocks up on lube. They are going to need it.

For many of them I think it's pure desperation. Somewhere in their subconscious those Blue Collar workers know the jobs their industries lost aren't coming back, but they just can't bear to face the truth. Hence with a choice between the candidate telling them the unpleasant truth and promising them impossible they went with their heart rather than their heads. Trump isn't the first politician to pull that trick, though he may be the least plausible ever to sell it to the voters. Most of the others at least maintained a veneer of being one of the people.

No, he's not. What amazes me is that when asked how he was going to perform these miracles, his answer was essentially "trust me" That's like believing "the check is in the mail" and "I promise sweetie, I'll pull out".

I understand wanting to trust people, but I know actually doing it is moronically gullible.

During the campaign, whenTrump told the American people that he was going to change Washington by taking on Wall Street, what he meant was take them on to his team.

I had a thought about Trump's cabinet...

I'd say it's time for the clown car cabinet... but this looks like the Killer Klown Kar Kabinet.

Okay, that makes me think of Rob Zombie, his movie "the Devil's rejects", insane clown posse, under-cranked black and white comedy movies, and the kkk all at the same time.

You get the Kickstarter going and I'll start a storyboard:D
