President Trump

You just sell that cynicism somewhere else, Mr. Neo-Liberal. You're just spiteful because my Donald is anti-interventionist.

I don't think I qualify as "neo-liberal". Wanting the US to counter Russia's expansion is a traditionally conservative position. One which the Republican party has apparently abandoned.

I don't what the political term is for someone who thinks stopping Russia from conquering other countries is more important to US interests than two dudes getting married. "Sane", maybe?

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I actually agree with you 100%.

Recall all the crazy scare-stories that were said in 2008 about what would happen if Obama was elected (he'd take all the guns away, make everyone Muslim-Gay-Communists or whatever). Naturally it didn't happen and from that I hope that much of the more extreme things people fear will come with Trump will not happen either.

Except Obama never said any of the highlighted, which is why there is no comparison between the two situations.

But that's how the US form of democracy works. If Clinton had won by the same margin I'm pretty sure no one would be complaining about the EC right now.

I know one guy who would be complaining. Imagine if Trump had lost the election, but won the popular vote. He'd go thermonuclear.

Not at all. I was simply adding my thoughts to yours. This habit of thinking that there's some malicious intent behind quoting and responding to a specific part of a post while not addressing other parts is silly and childish. It's not like I disagree with you or anything, but hey, if you want we can make believe that we do and argue furiously for 12 pages.

AAH! No! Not again!

**** you all, **** every one of you responsible for this ********** up country.

You're all sick pieces of ****, that's what you are, *********** sick pieces of ****.

You will not like the crap you've brought down on all of us. And the rest of us, the good people in this country, will not give in to your ignorance.

I can understand the sentiment even though I think it is the wrong tack. Progress doesn't come easy. It never has. I'm very afraid that the US has elected a man that could lead to the destruction of democracy in America and bring an end to the world itself. I also hope that there are enough checks and balances in place to prevent that.

Most people ARE ignorant and a great many are stupid, but I still believe most have the best intentions.

It is time for progressives and liberals to be proactive and vigilant. We just have to keep making our case for our positions. Work with Trump when we can and fight his proposals when they are totally unacceptable. One foot in front of another. Many of Trump's proposals are seriously opposed by his own party. We will have to align ourselves accordingly.

It's OK to vent. I've been doing a bit of that lately. But eventually, you have to come to the realization that America elected an orange narcissistic POS. The question is what are we going to do about it?

I don't think TM qualifies as a neoliberal.
According to Boas and Gans-Morse, neoliberalism is commonly used as a catchphrase and pejorative term, outpacing similar terms such as monetarism, neoconservatism, the Washington Consensus and "market reform" in much scholarly writing.[3] Jones, a historian of the concept, says the term "is too often used as a catch-all shorthand for the horrors associated with globalization and recurring financial crises"[30]:2 Currently, neoliberalism is most commonly used to refer to market-oriented reform policies such as "eliminating price controls, deregulating capital markets, lowering trade barriers", and reducing state influence on the economy, especially through privatization and austerity.[3] Campbell Jones, Martin Parker, René ten Bos note that neoliberalism is famously associated with the economic policies introduced by Margaret Thatcher in the United Kingdom and Ronald Reagan in the United States.[4]
Los wikis

White people are busy attempting to rationalize how to bring back white working class voters that loved the appeal of a campaign of white demagoguery reminiscent of Ben Tillman and George Wallace. They want to pretend that this white voter reaction is something that can be reasoned with or co-opted without sacrificing minority votes. It's fascinating watching the extremely divergent reactions from members of minority groups that vote Democrat aligned and white non-minority Democrat aligned voters in the aftermath of this campaign.

Bwhahahaha!!!

Hillary was a garbage candidate who ran a garbage campaign.

This is Hillary's fault, this is the DNC's fault, this is the whole Brock propaganda gang's fault, and Hillary's supporters fault.

Now they are going to lose the 2018 midterms because of nonsense like the above post
