Let Mikey try it. Remember that commercial? If the news reported honestly instead of with the goal of selling their commodity, more healthcare workers would get vaccinated.
I loved it! Even though I ate porridge or apple jacks more often.
The media are truly whorish in reporting, and worse, they are dumb when it comes to science and math- or deliberately skewing things.
I am also annoyed at the numbers that need to have a rolling average, because even though the global economy is losing billions a friggen minute in this thing, we cannot possibly expect to have anyone working on a weekend to report accurately!!
Then the reporters will say something is a percent up or down. Cases doubled! Case halved! What does it mean? Nothing, if they never give you the actual number or a baseline to compare. But it sells, right?
California was not some super epicenter, though some areas were bad (L.A. is pretty bad). We just happened to have the most people, by far. Deaths/million are about average among other states, and WAY less that NJ or NY. But nooooo. California is the superspreader of the century!! I think the reporters just want to be in nice weather. And odds are that, globally, people know someone here in CA rather than Montana, or Arizona. Just click bait.
and....Then!..., what does it mean that someone has a reaction to a vaccine? Well, according to media, the 5 people they found is indicative that the public could be at risk.
/rant. That could be a whole other thread.
