Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Can't believe prostitution is still illegal, though. As if it's my business if people pay other people for sex.

There should probably be a different term for this to separate it from prostitution due to the sex trafficking aspect. He was basically offering to pay to rape the victim of sex trafficking.

I wondered the same thing and thought...

Extreme convenience?
He thinks it's less risky?
Chinese fetish?

I mean... maybe people are weird and don't always make rational decision but I'm going to assume high end Chinese prostitutes are a thing that exists and as noted I don't buy the "less risky" since these places only seem to exist to get busted by the police.

Ted: "Officer, I am about to have sex with this woman."
Officer: "Is the woman agreeing?"
Ted: "Oh absolutely!"
Officer: "Well good luck and a fine day to you Sir!"
Ted: "But... I'm going to give her money."
Officer: "Well know that complicates things. Are you giving her the money for sex?"
Ted: "Well let's say I just give her money and by pure coincidence she agrees to have sex with me?"
Officer: "Well I suppose that would be okay."
Ted: "But if we were to implicitly agree to trade sex for money..."
Officer: "Then it becomes illegal..."
Ted: "... but we film it."
Officer: "Legal again!"

:D

This perfectly captures the lunacy of all this. Is that yours?

Agreed. We're really talking about "rape set up by a third party" when we're talking about later and that is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Actually now that I think of it some jurisdiction has surely tried at some point to bust a porn studio for being a form of prostitution. Wonder if the courts have ever ruled on this. I don't want to search anything with "porn" in it at work to find out.

I'm pretty sure that distinction was used as the plot of a Law & Order episode (as if that weren't true of almost any topic...)

Seriously, the dude's a billionaire and he's busted at a neighborhood rub-n-tug? The kind of place the exists solely to feature on the local news for its monthly raid?
?

Same thing with Harvey Weinstein. Both he and Kraft are rich enough to hire the most expensive, high class, discreet call girls in the business, but thet get busted for doing it in the open. Just incredible.

My guess would be that professional porn isn't prostitution because the actor isn't paying the actress for sex.

Talk about a quick fall from grace... in under 3 weeks from picking up the Lombardi trophy to this.
Let's face it, a lot of people who don't like, or are just sick and tired of the Patriots, are getting some Schandefreud from this. I admit I sort of chuckled when I first saw the story.

But those people are still going to have to witness the Patriots win more Super Bowls.
