Well, Claus was probably tired of the contentious nature of the discussion, so he went and started a nice, quiet capital punishment thread to calm things down.

There's that, true. Also, people who hold different political beliefs, coming together on the agreement that CFL makes no sense. That's powerful.

And some would take that as a clue to examine their position and how they arrived at their position. Others can never be wrong.
 
We can ask an unrelated question

Why would a foreigner with a demonstrably shaky grasp of another country's native laws and judicial system presume to make what appear to be a priori judgments about how the system should work, and complain because it doesn't line up with his assumptions, especially after having had his nuts kicked in every previous attempt by people who actually live under that government and laws, are lawyers, have served on juries, studied the history, and all the rest?
