I have NEVER seen a thread reach closure by that defition, no matter who the participants were.

It would take for Claus to start making some sense.

At the very least he could try backpadling. What he's doing now is simply bizarre.
 
I believe there was a thread about marijuana legalization that actually ended with all parties agreeing that the others had a legitimate point of view. As I recall, it was conducted in a civil manner and had well-structured arguments.

Most likely lost during some encounter with the pruning shears.

Probably the unusual level of civility was due to at least one side of the debate smoking continuously while posting.
