Passenger killed by air marshall

Yeah, but which one of us is the straight man?

eta Ed's quote since we dropped to a new page.

I think Claus is zooming all of you. No one that can operate a keyboard is that dense.

This certainly advances Randi's wish ....

You ever see the guys in NY that yell at passing cars? That is what this thread reminds me of. Except you, Upchurch, are yelling back.

Hilarious.

edit... actually it is as though you are in a car and are circling the block to yell back. Does Claus squeege your windows when you hit a light?

Not just you, dozens of people, me too. Hilarious.

This has got to be the biggest, bestest troll since Bethke.

And I'm having a laid back, casual conversation with passing cars? I don't know if that is better or worse. :D

I think that it is almost like you (you in the collective, commie sense) are in one of those candid camera stunts or some sort of warped psych experiment.

It is like you know that it is happening but the allure of the absurd is just too much.

...where do you find those smilies? all I have is this lame piece of crap :) I use it when I'm joking, when I'm incredulous, angry, sad...like I have an affective disorder or something .......

I had the same problem with Franko. It really is a problem for me.

I find my smilies to the right of the message box when I reply, but you can also find them up with the formating tags above the message box.

cool. I had the "basic" text box before.

Well I am glad Claus admitted his error, appoligised and all while explainig his point of view, clearly.

This certainly creates a wonderful atmosphere of spirited but friendly and fair debate we have here on the forum.

I'm assuming that Claus hasn't had a chance to respond, either because he hasn't had the time or that he is still putting his thoughts and sources together. Ed knows I've had that problem from time to time.

Sarcasm aside, it does happen from time to time and I do enjoy those rare moments.

Show me the evidence that I have argued that the DoI has legal value.

I have done so and Upchurch has done so.

Of course, I am fair so here's the evidence that you "have argued that the DoI has legal value."

Rights are endowed in the DoI.
source

I am not talking about the legality. I am talking about where the rights are coming from.
source

I am not claiming that the DoI is a legally binding document. I'm not talking about protecting rights. I am talking about rights being endowed.
....
Your rights are secured by laws made by government. But your rights are endowed by your Creator.
source

I'm not saying that either. I'm saying that the DoI describes who/what endows the rights.
source

Breaking it down now:

The above quotes made by you are arguments that DoI has legal value. Your refusal to lable them as not does not change that those quotes made by you are arguments that DoI has legal value.

What is the difference? Why are you getting hung up on this? Is there a specific reason? Is it sorta a "gotcha" thing? Why not fill in the blank and then make your point?

I asked this on page three, or thereabouts, and there is still no answer to what the point is....

See his reply above.

Indeed.

To reduce this thread to it's essentials....

It started off about one thing, then it was hijacked to another and now it is about Claus and what he said.

Priceless.

Under what other basis can you assert that US citizens have the rights in the DoI?

and, as he rounds the corner and spots the screaming lunatic, Upchurch takes another bite of his cookie (pictured) and, as an unworldly smile plays on his lips (pictured), he enters a tranquil state of arguement for it's own sake ....

If I weren't so attached to my title, I would consider changing it to "Zen Master of Argumentation".

Of course, a Zen Master who is attached to something is a contradiction anyway.
