Palin not running.

And she gets to KEEP all that campaign money.
I am sure that is not exactly true. Although I have always felt that small time candidates who have no chance to win do get long and first class vacations at their contributors expense. You won't catch many political candidates staying at the Motel "we left the light on for you" 6.

Morning Edition just interviewed an attorney who's been spending (he says...) 100 hours per week working towards her possible campaign. He considers her the "best possible" candidate for America....
Just goes to show you that a law degree does not necessarily confer intelligence.

Just had an AP alert on my phone; Palin is not running.

Not that this should be a surprise.

In other news, Generalissimo Franco is still dead!

She had no support and would have to give up her job at FoxNews even though she may be more suited to Comedy Central. She has turned in the female Steven Colbert except she's not acting.

Well, she's improving her "quitting" skills anyway by quitting before she starts. Now if she only learns to quit before she says anything.

Is she not running because there's only room for one Sarah Palin this election and that's Michele Bachmann?

I don't think that Cain would be doing better if he were white. He might be doing worse. He has significant liabilities as a candidate, and I wouldn't attribute it to racism if the Republicans pass on him.

1) His economic ideas are genuinely kooky and unworkable (and that's supposed to be his strong suit).
2) He knows nothing about foreign policy, and says that he would take advice from people like John Bolton. He won't say what his foreign policy would be other than who he would go to for advice.
3) He said that he wouldn't have a Muslim on his staff because that would mean that America would be ruled by Sharia law. Now he says that he would hire a Muslim, but only if they took a special loyalty oath for Muslims.

That's just for starters.

Those are dumb things to be sure, but I think all of that appeals to the base right now. Muslim loyalty oaths? Thanks for keepin' it real. His frank admission that he doesn't know about the rest of the world (who cares about Un-America) resonated with people. Kooky economic ideas? Moar please.

So I wonder which candidate will receive the kiss of death Palin's endorsement. . .

I think it is more that Palin is dumb, but she's not so dumb that she doesn't realize running would be a horrible idea for her.

Not for fun. That's a disgusting link. I'm certainly no Palin fan but calling her a "skank" and saying she's coke-addled is way, way over the top. There's no need for such smears against her ... or anybody else, for that matter. I suggest you keep your vitriol for Oz politics.

I liked what Joe Scarborough said yesterday morning. After Chris Christie dropped out and her phone didn't start ringing with big time donors (they were probably calling Romney) so she got the message - or didn't, so to speak.

I thought this was quite funny:

"After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States,"

If you are Sarah Palin, probably a bad idea to ask God if you should run for President and expect a reply you like.

I like that a lot. Apparently even God thought it would be a bad idea for her to be President.

I'm curious why God thought it would be a good idea for her to run for VP? I guess God works in mysterious ways. Or maybe God loves Obama.

The true test would be if they had a better black candidate as a choice.

Agreed. I think if Powell had not been so leary of the process of electioneering, we could have had our first black POTUS 8 years earlier, and he would have been a Republican.
