Merged Osama bin Laden dead,

Boy, I hope the delay isn't for some stupid "optical" reason like printing up a "Mission Accomplished" banner or flying him over to a military base so that he can make the announcement in front of troops.

They said he was going to address the nation an hour ago.
*press conference ends...Obama straps self to bi-plane and plane takes off with mission accomplished banner flowing in the wind*

He couldn't address the nation in his pj's, could he? :p

I was thinking two bald eagles draping him in the American flag, & he dances away from the podium to "America **** Yeah!"

ETA:
Totally missed opportunity to start playing America, **** Yeah as Obama started walking away from the camera.

LOL!

Personally I was always hoping we would capture him alive.

I hadn't given it much thought until you brought it up, but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm glad we didn't. The politico-legal bs ensuing from having him in custody would drag on for years. It would be worse than anything we've seen so far with any of our other WoT detainees. It would far outweigh the benefit for military intelligence from having him alive to interrogate "torture".

I think I threw up in my mouth a little just thinking about it.

No, definitely better to kill him on the battlefield and have done with it. Personally, I'm much more interested in the intel that led up to this point.

I'm guessing factions in the Pakistani Intelligence and Military forces had been protecting him for years. I'd guess more mansions than caves for the past ten years.
I tend to agree with that estimate, given the previous president of Pakistan's prohibition of US ops on his turf ... OBTW, Pres/Gen Musharraf, screw you with an auger bit.
May have actually been a Pakistani ground op...
Not according to the President's announcements. They did help, however.

I opened up the bottle of Jeremiah Weed that has been waiting for this announcement, took a nice full shot. Yes, a shot of Weed is what one does now and again when one simply needs a shot.

Osama is dead, good. About damned time. The Pres said they had a tip in August, and it took until the past few days to put together the Op, the intel, the confirmation, and as I understood his words, the coordination with a few folks in Pakistan who wouldn't blow cover, and so nailed his tired ass.

So ...

Now what?

American Baptist minister Robert Wadsworth Lowry said it best in 1896, I think:

When tyrants tremble in their fear
And hear their death knell ringing,
When friends rejoice both far and near
How can I keep from singing?

Now their shields are down, we send the word to militaries around the world to start taking those sons of bitches down.

Wait, sorry. Was thinking of Independence Day.

Can I buy that man a cold beer!
.
I was talking to my nephew who's been to the Whogivesa****stan area 3 times, as the Prez talked.
Told him to take the rest of the week off, along with all the other soldiers we've sent to ********land since 9/11.

It is almost too bad there is no Hell. The thought of that piece of **** being completely shocked at arriving in Hell instead of being greeted by 72 virgins in paradise is hilarious.

Great job Obama. That's what I call efficiency.

:bigclap

The CIA needed cleaning up, and he did it.
