It started when it was discovered that Harvard listed Sen. Elizabeth Warren as a "minority professor", supposedly without her knowledge. Her parents and grandparents told stories about their family's Cherokee and Delaware ancestry, and she self-identified as having Native American ancestry, but there's no concrete documentation.
