Merged Obama enters GZ Mosque debate

You don't have to be Peter Parker to get a sense that Bonnie is indeed a liberal, which would be pointless to deny on her website. Perhaps that is why she says she is neither a Democrat/Republican, progressive/conservative. Since when are pro abortion, more gun control, and railing against churches not the hallmarks of the left's political positions?

I didn't ask you to keep repeating your "Is so a librul!!1!!" irrelevant non-argument, Cicero.

I asked you to tell me why you think it affected my overall point about her idiotic statements and her even more idiotic reliance on a fundamentalist Christian website apparently dedicated to evangelistic efforts for information regarding Islam and the Qu'ran.

Were you aching for POTUS Obama to tell you in his own words why he questioned the wisdom of the mosque location? He also did not question the wisdom of pubs and/or eager beaver clubs in the same location.

When he starts posting here, I'll ask him.

In the meantime, I'm asking you.

Cicero, do you agree with Bonnie Erbe's assertion that there is "no practical way" to tell good Muslims apart from bad Muslims?

I agree with Bonnie that one should not dismiss opponents of mosques as bigots.

Labeling people "bigots" who will not be coerced by your callow opinions demonstrates your lack of character. It is those like yourself who employ the Truther trick bag of argument of lack of evidence is evidence in itself.

Cicero, what reason is there to oppose Park51 other than bigotry, kowtowing to bigots, or stupidity?

As someone with the callow opinion that all Americans should be afforded their Constitutional rights, and lacking the character that dictates all Muslims are terrorists, I'm at a loss to come up with any other reasons.

Do you agree that it's pretty ironic for her to make a bigoted statement while claiming that not all opponents are bigots?

Do you now admit that you were in error regarding Bonnie's political positions which are obviously not antithetical to liberals?

Please tell me how whether I was wrong or right makes any difference at all to my overall point about her idiotic statements and her even more idiotic reliance on a fundamentalist Christian website apparently dedicated to evangelistic efforts for information regarding Islam and the Qu'ran.

Or maybe you're focusing so hard on this irrelevancy because you can't?

It is so difficult for you to admit to an error? If it doesn't make any difference to your overall point why have you not conceded the point about Bonnie?

What error? Erbe holds positions that many liberals hold. She also holds positions that many conservatives hold. People don't fit into neat little binary political categories, Cicero.

If it doesn't make any difference to your overall point why have you not conceded the point about Bonnie?

Because whether she's a liberal, a conservative, neither, both, or even a shapeshifting space lizard here to eat our babies is completely and utterly irrelevant to the fact that she made a massively stupid statement and compounded it by citing an evangelical Christian website for an authoritative and factual analysis of Islam and the Qu'ran!

And the fact that you keep repeating this completely pointless nonsense that only loosely counts as an "argument" while repeatedly refusing to address my point above kind of indicates that you know that already.

Anyone who would limit the rights of a religious group to practice their faith in a given location because it is impossible to tell whether or not they are practicing it there as a deliberate insult or threatening gesture is a racist and a dimbulb. Anyone who would use the positions of an obvious dimbulb in support of their own position is less than a genius as well, perhaps even another bigtted dimbulb.

You denied she held any liberal positions. As far as fitting people into "neat little binary political categories," that is what you were guilty of when you said:

and supporting political positions usually considered antithetical to "liberals"...

She won't fit into your false conservative pumps no matter how much you stretch those them with a broom. But those liberal pumps slip right on. Now that you have back peddled so fast the chain fell off your tricycle, can you cite any conservative positions she holds?

The same one that POTUS Obama gave. That the location of the mosque is perhaps not the wisest choice. Two-thirds of New York City residents have expressed their opinion that, while they wish the mosque to be built, they believe it would be beneficial for all concerned if it were moved further away from the current proposed site.

Rauf may actually agree with these people and build it elsewhere. But then I guess he, the POTUS and two-thirds of New Yorkers would still be characterized by you as "bigots", "kowtowing to bigots," or being "stupid."

As far as I know, Obama doesn't oppose Park51. And saying it's not the "wisest choice" is not an answer. You have to explain why it's not a wise choice. As far as the two-thirds of New Yorkers, yes, I think they all fall into one of the three categories I provided.

But that is, of course, not the point.

You have repeatedly taken offense and insulted me because of my position, but refuse to offer any alternatives.

So let's try this again:

What reason is there to oppose Park51 other than bigotry, kowtowing to bigots, or stupidity?
