Merged Obama Birth Certificate Released

Because there was some question as to whether they simply registered his birth or he was born there. He should have released it a long time ago and the fact he has now shows that.

There was no question he was born there.

What on the long form made you change your mind?

It says that he is not a fascist thug like some of the GOPer governors in the Midwest who will abuse his authority to tell a state agency to do it his way or else.

The birfers owe him an apology for making him have to go lean on the state of Hawaii. And the nattering idiots owe an apology to the registrar in Hawaii for wasting his or her time, and an apology to all the grown-ups in the country who have had to put up with the chattering of a bunch of brai-damaged drongos for the last three years.
He didn't have to lean on the state. They were willing to release it all along. He just didn't seem to think reassuring millions of Americans he was born here wasn't necessary.

Speaks volumes about the attitude towards everyday Americans.

Because there was some question as to whether they simply registered his birth or he was born there.

No there wasn't.

If he weren't born there, he couldn't have gotten the short-form birth certificate that showed he was born in Hawaii.

Some dweeb on the radio a little bit ago was claiming the certificate is fake because in the 60's, black people were called "negro", not "African", thus the stated race of Obama's father should have been "negro".
]

Perhaps it wasn't used as a racial name, but as a 'Continent of origion'?

Though I suppose it should have said Kenyan?

There was no question. The Hawaii Certificate of Live Birth always, explicitly, confirmed that he was born in Hawaii.

This semantic game you play to try to relieve yourself of looking foolish for believing what you've been repeatedly been shown to be garbage reporting, opinion and speculation is more than a little disengenuous.

This -- your position that there were "some" legimiate questions -- was never a credible position. You can't make it into one by wishing really really really hard that it was.

BTW...who has less respect for Americans Obama for not playing the Birther Game...or at least not the way they wanted him to play it? Or the Birthers who closed their eyes, put their fingers in their ears, refused to read, refused to understand and continue to pretend that the game is still on but moves to a different level? Or the birthers who convinced maybe some significant portion of the GOP that the earth is flat while knowing that it is round?

Does this "question" apply to every single other Hawaiian?

Sends a clear message to all the idiot Repugs composing "Birther Bills" in numerous red states who have been under the fantasy they can tie up Obama with legal hassels registering as a Presidential candidate in said states: :bike:

(Of course there was nothing undemocratic about such tactics to influence an election, but I digress....)

Are you completely incapable of distinguishing a legitimate concern from an illegitimate one? Because one has asked a question, does not mean that another is obligated to provide an answer with evidence, especially when the individual is extremely unreasonable and unwilling to accept substantial evidence. Lots of people are unconvinced that 9/11 was not an inside job? Shall the president also go out of his way to prove that it was not? What about the moon landing? What about Bigfoot? Do you consider all of these to be legitimate concerns?

No, the short-form only showed someone registered his birth as born in Hawaii; hence the need for the long-form.

Glad he finally complied. What took him so long?

It was only made possibly by setting aside the laws. People kept reminding you about that detail.

BS. You and your ilk have everything to apologise for. He should never ever have had to produce this in the first place, and only did it due to endless harassment from a group of racists; as an attempt to start disussing actual politics again, as opposed to keeping on having to deal with hysterical rants from rightwings without any clue whatsoever.

By the way, now that you've seen this "long form", what exact information did you find there that convinced you that Obama's American, that wasn't available already? I mean, no birther on this forum has ever answered that question, and since you appear to be "satisfied" now, then maybe you can tell what piece of information made the difference? And was it really worth having to set aside the law for?
There absolutely no laws preventing obtaining a certified copy of his long-form birth certificate. That was a canard fabricated by his defenders who said it was impossible to obtain.

Clearly it was not.

Their next tactic, according to the New York Times, is to make it much, much harder for the young, the poor, and minorities to vote...

Does this sound like 50 years ago?

It should.
