On the other hand, the polls that capture Birther agnostics will surely change. At least now only the dyed-in-the-wool crazies will still say they're not certain Obama was born in the U.S.
 
There is no way to satisfy the Birthers, just as there is no way to satisfy the Trig Truthers or the 9-11 Truthers. Any evidence offered is just waved off as part of the coverup. Old joke updated:

Hawaii's registrar certified the new photocopy of the document provided to the White House on April 25, 2011.

The White House also released a letter from the president on April 22 requesting two certified copies of his original certificate of live birth. Also released was a letter from Loretta Fuddy, Hawaii's director of health, approving the request.

The president's personal counsel, Judith Corley, traveled to Hawaii to pick up the documents and carried them back to Washington on a plane. The documents arrived at the White House around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

My thoughts exactly. Someone else mentioned "kicking the hornets nest" which is a great analogy.

This is a topic he wins without trying. He can focus all of his time on policy while the right ties itself in knots over the fact that half their constituents are nuts and they can no longer blame the uncertainty on Obama.

At first I was pissed that he was feeding the trolls, but now it looks brilliant: bring the trolls into the spotlight where they will do the most damage.
 
There's just been a report on this on the BBC. Reported as a straight story, some US citizens don't come out looking great. Fart...wind...flatus...err Trump looked an absolute fool.

Birthers have nothing to apologize for. Obama should have produced this years ago. Why would he not have done that? What does that say about the man?

Because, obviously, it was irrelevant. His state certified birth certificate said he was born in Hawaii. That was and is all that matters.

Why, conversely, would birthers spend years disputing a legal, certified state document?

It was only made possibly by setting aside the laws. People kept reminding you about that detail.

By the way, now that you've seen this "long form", what exact information did you find there that convinced you that Obama's American, that wasn't available already? I mean, no birther on this forum has ever answered that question, and since you appear to be "satisfied" now, then maybe you can tell what piece of information made the difference? And was it really worth having to set aside the law for?

So the question now is, when did President Obama kill the real Barack Obama and take his place? Was it in earliest childhood, at the Communist madrassah in Afghanistan where he was trained to hate America? Or was it later, when he got the blessing from the Elders of Zion in Kenya while dining on the blood of white Christian babies? Or did his father Satan simply swap their brains via sorcery at the start of his political career? And is his wife one of the lizard people in disguise?
