Obama and Jesus

Correct me if I'm wrong please someone, but isn't it the case in the good, nay great, US of A, that a state religion is forbidden by constitutional law? And BaC (and Fox and assorted screaming gun-nuts) is deriding Obama for upholding that law as he has sworn to do?

Not even a good attempt at chain-yanking, young feller.

In fact, in a speech he gave recently, Obama went so far as to remove mention of Jesus from a sermon he quoted that was given by a military chaplain on Iwo Jima in 1945 (http://www.torenewamerica.com/obama-removes-jesus-from-easter-message ).

So are you Obamaphiles sure this guy's the Christian he claims to be? :D

So he meade no stateaments at the Easter Preayer Breakfast?

Or are you uneaware of the feact that he even eattended an Easter Preayer Breakfast?

When was the least time a president other than Obeama made a steatement about Easter theat you would consider sufficient?

Right-Wing Media Throw A Fit About Obama Not Issuing Easter "Proclamation"

(...)
Despite assertions by the right-wing media to the contrary, presidential proclamations have not historically marked religious holidays. As Little Green Footballs blogger Charles Johnson noted, presidents going back through at least 1980 have not released a proclamation about Easter.

Obama has indeed released other kinds of statements marking a variety of religious holidays, but like his predecessors, he has not made them "proclamations."

Hey BAC, did Bush 43 "release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity's most sacred holiday"? Did Bush 41? Did Clinton? Did Reagan? Carter? Ford? Nixon?
BAC?

It only pissed me off that he attended the National Day of Prayer gathering sponsored by that scumbag cult that most the horndog Republicon congress critters belong to. Otherwise, his public statements on religion have, in my view, been appropriate. Mentioning the Muslim holidays was appropriate as a reminder that this is neither officially nor exclusively a Christian country.

There is no here here.

Easter = a pagan fertility ritual co-opted for the celebration of a dead kike on a stick.

Normally I wouldn't use the term, but I don't know why, but for some reason the expression "a dead kike on a stick" just appeals to me. It's sucinct and yet manages to insult two religions at the same time.

These proclomations are designed for people who believe, to paraphrase and Elvis Costello lyric, that Jesus was Santa Claus as a child and that the easter bunny is Jesus' invisible friend Harvy the Rabit.

It was Easter?!?!? I missed it, dag nabbit! It's all Obama's fault. If he had issued a proclamation, I would have known about it.

But that does explain all those darned chocolate eggs and jelly beans at the drugstore. I knew something had to be up.

Keep to the topic. The topic is not the other posters.

Bump. Cos I am sure the OP has just been too busy in the Birther thread in CT and will be back to comment and I am interested to hear his reply/rebuttals.

What disturbs me is that they were keeping track of the statements about the Muslim holidays like they were thinking "he dared mention a Heathen holiday he'd better have Christianities back!"
