NY Times editorial bombshell

Fair enough. It would be nice to actually examine the author, though.

Agreed. And I don't think we will have to wait as long as we did for Deep Throat.

"I meant to do that"?

Is that really any better? Seriously.

They're not guilty, they're morons. No, they're not morons, they're just acting like morons!

OK, what's the difference?

Woodward has said Trump called Sessions a "mentally retarded" southerner. Trump has publicly denied it. Who do you think is telling the truth?

IIRC Trump also said that he'd never used that sort of language; there are tapes are him doing so.

And I don't think we will have to wait as long as we did for Deep Throat.

What makes you think we're ever going to find out who it is?

Do you think the intelligence agencies will hunt them down, or they'll just go public voluntarily, or...?

It's pronounced "Louie Ziv" not many people know that. Great guy, he really likes me, thinks I'm doing a great job.
And he made great furniture, really classy stuff!

Murder on the Orient Express. They all did it.
Is this a spoiler?

Do you figure Deep Lodestar was also a source for Woodward? Seems kind of inevitable, I think.
I would think yes because Woodward probably shook every tree available. There is a slight chance that he/she wasn't, though.

Speaking of Jesus Christ, I wonder if Trump has compared himself to JC yet.

Christ? No way! Loser! Captured, tortured, killed. Weak spirited. Poor. Didn't golf. Bleeding heart liberal.

If I had to guess what kind of deity with whom Trump compares himself I would suggest an entity with none of these limitations and who is legendary for his negotiating skills: Old Scratch. Beelzebub. Old Nick. Mephistopheles...

"The Art of the Deal Devil."

Pretty sure he thinks Jesus was a p-word, and he'd never worship a deity who got killed.
Well some folks thought he made quite the comeback.

I don't know what a "p-word" is ... don't tell me, I'd rather guess.

I think you're onto something.

I'm not claiming the article is false. I think it's actually pretty good evidence for the existence of a Deep State conspiracy to obstruct the President. Unless it actually was written by someone in the Cabinet or the West Wing. In that case, it would be good evidence of a different, but no less serious problem.

So you *prefer* to adopt the deep state conspiracy theory wherein it's the *other side* mucking up the works, and reflexively discount the author's claim of being a Republican Trump admin member and *supporter of Trump's policies* who only rejects the crazy stuff?

Don't you think that's revealing considerable bias? Or a blinders-on refusal to entertain painful truths?

The NTY is apparently satisfied that no duplicitous chicanery is afoot, and have put their reputation on the line to some degree. I'll provisionally accept the veracity of the piece. Before jumping straight to the less plausible belief that this is the work of some vast cabal of disgruntled Dem operatives.

Did they claim to be a trump appointed or hired by a trump appointed member?

So many posts from you both all making you both appear to be desperate to believe that no Trump insider would have written the op-ed.

Another anonymous Trump insider said,

"The problem for the president is it could be so many people.. You can't rule it down to one person. Everyone is trying, but it's impossible."

Bob Corker (R), Tennessee, said they're more worried about who *wouldn't* have written the letter.

:D :D :D

214 posts later, Rebublicans are still focusing on the undisclosed identity of the author and ignoring the huge elephant in the room that it could have been written by any Republican official working with Trump, and that other Republicans have supported the op-ed's views.

Not this Republican. I didn't read it and don't care who wrote it. It's clearly fake news, by any reasonable standard.

What do you consider "legitimate", non fakenews media outlets?

eta:
What if Nikki Haley confessed that it was her who wrote it. Would you still consider it fake news? Since it's not corroborated?

Two sources for every line in the op-ed.

That's an answer to a totally different question from the one I asked. I was asking what news outlets you consider not fake news.

Also, what if Nikki Haley confessed that it was her who wrote it. Would you still consider it fake news? Since it's not corroborated?
