is going to disappoint a few people straight off.We are not leaving Europe. It would be geographically, physically, culturally, emotionally and historically impossible for the UK to leave Europe. That is not our destiny. That is not our future."

Er that was my post you quoted not a spokesperson for Labour. So suddenly it is in the best interests of the country to have austerity and a balanced budget. How quickly Labour flip-flop.

Mr Davis said the "ideal outcome" would be "continued tariff-free access" to the EU single market, adding: "Once the European nations realise we will not budge on control of our borders, they will want to talk, in their own interests.
Mr Letwin, who was fired by Mrs May when she took over, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that because the EU had led trade talks with other countries since 1973, "we do not have trade negotiators", adding: "Trade negotiators who are Brits at the moment are basically working for the EU."

Looks like we're going to have challenges during negotiations:
As Dara O'Briain said on Mock the Week, they're going to be expensive hires because they're really good at negotiating![]()
I think this express article and especially the comments below pretty much typifies the sorry state of politics, public opinion and the media in the UK right now.

She's so utterly stupid. Fathers on my facebook are going ape-shaped over this.Another gem from Leadsom (part of the original Times mothergate interview, it seems):
Men should not be hired to look after young children because of the risk they might be paedophiles, Andrea Leadsom has said.

In my humble opinion that's how Theresa May is planning to stay in EU. Promise to leave, have the most prominent Leaver screw things up so completely Brexit becomes impossible for UK, then wash the blood off her hands.
Either that, or I want what she's smoking.
