I cannot tell YOU how to interpret the paragraph, as you are not asking for interpretation. Rather, you are engaging in rhetoric and are telling us how to interpret it. And, your interpretation is plausible, but it is not very strong or convincing that Bedell was "a truther."

You have correctly quoted what he said, but it is just as plausible to say that his reference to "a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions" is but an example of what his larger point is. Further, the truth of September 11 is, to him, but "a step" towards a larger goal.

A lot of people, a majority of Americans according to some surveys, do not believe the official myth of 9/11 and a similar majority of Americans are thought to favor a "new" investigation (not understanding, perhaps, there's not ever been a valid investigation in the first place). I don't think it fair to call the majority of Americans "truthers" by virtue of their having called for finding out the truth of the event and/or for harboring doubts about the common myth.

Is this just me, here posters, or do you folks also think anyone who, say, supports a "new" 9/11 investigation is a truther?


With thousands of unstable, angry and paranoid white men reading countless mythical, angry and paranoid accounts of the US government's (bush regime, as commonly referred to by truthers at JREF) false flag operation to murder 3000 innocent people, it's just a matter of time before more of them take random pot-shots at government personnel.

It is America's 21st Century witch hunt unfolding as we speak...

Is it possible that those who are, as you say, "unstable, angry and paranoid..." got that way primarily because of the current financial collapse and the transfer of wealth to the financial elite, in exchange for the debt to be paid by the public?

There's also the possibility rogue unicorns forced him to drink the hypno juice they store in their horns. At least this guy hasn't admitted he was just being a drunken idiot when he committed his crime like Sirhan Sirhan did.

The irony is that 95% of truthers I have met supported either Ron Paul if they had conservative proclivities or Dennis Kucinich if they were liberals. The only two candidates in the last election that were anti-war, and anti-violence. Members the truth movement by and large are peace loving patriotic Americans from both sides of the US political spectrum. This is obviously either a set up or the guy is seriously mentally ill. Neither would surprise me.

So Sirhan had a few too many beers and decided to off Kennedy. He says to this day he doesn't remember a thing about that night, like he was in an induced trance. There have been some recent developments in that case involving photographs of several CIA handlers present at the Ambassador Hotel that night. No unicorns were seen.

I don't think this guy will admit anything. Just a truther who went off. This could trigger a Glenn Beck 911 truther terror special. Didn't the guys at prison planet predict that some crazed truther would go shoot up some public place a couple of days ago? Also a couple months before 911 Bill Jones predicted exactly what was comming, and who would be blamed.

It's possible...just possible...that certain aspects of the truth movement appeal to the mentally ill more than those with their faculties intact.

Just possible.

The revolution began a long time ago. I will be won by peaceful means. It is a revolution of consciousness, a great awakening. What about people who support Dick Cheney? Is it possible, just possible that there is a high percentage of mentally ill among them?

You really under estimate the presence of mental illness here in America. The truth movement is the least of our worries when it comes to the mentally ill in America.

A form of group think mental illness prevails here in America, and it is rampant. Read some of the sick posts made by some of these "normal people". You might even be inflicted and not even realize it..... They never do.
