I am a pretty strong supporter of the right of Gun Ownership, but I don't like a lot of the company I keep. I refuse to join or contribute to the NRA because they promote so much Conspiracy Crap.

It would be nice if instead of railing on about conspiracies to take away guns, the NRA instead simply made commercials stating the obvious, to whit; "If you are even thinking about pointing a gun at innocents and children then you are part of the problem not the solution. Get help!".


Who in their right mind points a gun at 6 year olds, and in what universe does such a person have a "right" to a firearm?
I simply cannot understand why there is such a paranoia about any measure that would absolutely require a legal gun owner to take a course in gun safety and have a background check done before being able to exercise a right to own a gun.
Such measures will not eliminate school or workplace shootings but would reduce them. In fact although theft is outlawed absolutely it still exists but I do not see anyone throwing up their arms(pun intended) and saying that theft laws won't eliminate theft so why spend money on implementing and enforcing them.

This follows an all-too-familiar pattern.
First they say "This is why we need more guns! An armed bystander could've taken down the shooter with much less harm being done."
When you point out that in the haze of an unexpected assault like this, where people are scrambling to flee or for cover, and the target is moving, the odds of a successful takedown are extremely low, and you're much more likely to shoot an innocent than the assailant, they move on to BS statistics, such as "Most of these shootings are done with weapons purchased illegally anyway, so tighter gun laws wouldn't prevent them". When you point out that this is categorically and laughably false, then they start moving on to the crazy false flag/UN gun grab scenarios.

It would be amusing if it weren't so disturbing.

If I were sufficiently loony to believe in conspiracy theories, I'd probably think that there is a conspiracy to avoid looking into why these spree killings happen by diverting attention onto the weapon/s used.

These "False flag to take our guns away!" theories don't make any sense. We have had several such shootings here in the USA, and none of them has had the effect of getting guns taken away. The gun lobby always argues that if everyone had guns, these shootings would not happen.

If the government really perpetrated a psy op to seize guns, there would be a shooter who opens fire, while a few gun-carrying citizens fire back and kill several innocent bystanders but fail to stop the shooter. Otherwise it is the same thing we have seen before that did not result in martial law or whatever nonsense they fantasize about.

Anyway, here's a great comment, very exemplary of the DIF "everything is a conspiracy" mode.

There are no lone gunmen... EVER.

The most a lone gunman has ever done is shoot his wife and kids and then himself in his own home. That's it.

It is ALWAYS black ops. The power elite have a problem with plebs owning guns in America, hence sway the public against them.

There are just as many holes in the lone gunman theory as the official story of 911. I've read a lot of this of late and you would not believe the ******** involved.
