I didn't choose to ignore anything. I was following your direction:
...
I looked at the latest one. It said I was 100% correct. That's the highest score a correct answer can have.
...
You said you looked at the latest post by fromdownunder, which was:
Well, no, I was just making fun of you, as I have on every post I have made on your ludicrous idea that you project thoughts, and everybody on the planet somehow hears "42" every day. I do actually think of "42" quite often, when asked "what is 6 x 9" especially when I am doing Math, in Base 13.
Loss Leader's interpretation of what I said (and have said all along) was 100% correct. I can't help it if you are so totally innocent of humour that you cannot understand this.
Norm
and I believe you.
However, it seems that, while trying to lecture me on proper scientific method, and confirmation bias, you fell badly victim of confirmation bias yourself.
Wikipedia explains:
... People display this bias when they gather or remember information selectively ... (

The problem seems to be that, when you read fromdownunder's post, you only paid attention to the last part, which is the one that you liked, and you paid no attention at all to the first part of the post (so, you read it
selectively). fromdownunder actually actually sent a mixed message in his post. The last part , with cannons and trumpets, is clear and that's the part that attracted your attention. The first part
"
Well, no, I was just making fun of you, as I have on every post I have made on your ... idea that you project thoughts, and everybody on the planet somehow hears "42" every day. I do actually think of "42" quite often ..."
is somewhat enigmatic, and perhaps I should try to clarify it a little.
42, in popular culture, is the
"Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything". I also suspect this number was constructed, based on my birth date, 22 February (1958). From the day and the month, you get 22 and 2.
And this is closely related to 42, as shown below:
22, 2 → 2*2, 2 → 4, 2 → 42 .
It seems that, in fromdownunder's post, "42" means "my telepathic message, the thoughts I am broadcasting everyday" (in a somewhat ironic way), and
he seems to be confirming that he is receiving this message, because he said "
I do actually think of "42" quite often" (almost contradicting his earlier statement, from the sentence before). The assumption that you seem to generally favor, that I am just an ordinary schizophrenic, cannot explain why fromdownunder "oddly" is (almost) contradicting himself in very strange sentences.
