I may transmit other numbers during the test period, but not the idea "number xx is the target number for the Randi test". I rewrite the number from time to time on the paper near my computer, and I draw a circle around it, to try to avoid confusion. I also often write the time next to the number. What measures do you take to prevent inadvertent transmission of other numbers during the test period?
How do you select channel 7 on your TV without thinking of the number 7?
What happens when you look at your watch and it says 12:34?
When the microwave prompts you to "Select Cooking Time" does your mind go blank?

The opening post for this test is post #1495.
You really shouldn't draw a circle around your number, your number will be enclosed and can not be transmitted because your number can't leave the circle.
Please think of a better emphasis for your number and post it here, it'll aid transmittionance of your number.
As you know, it isn't and there is no test.
Of course the number can leave the circle perpendicular to the paper, but he will have to orient the paper so the number doesn't beam into outer space. ...
... I am more concerned that the circle might be confused with zero (in the USA at least) in the recipient's minds. ...

There is no complicated protocol in this test, I have simplified it following remarks by members of this forum, and also my own observations. If I get valid numerical answers (i.e. integers in the range 1-10. Note: in this test, they must be given explicitly, I remind of this in response to xtifr's post 1531 above), I'm planning to count them up, and to examine if the target has been answered more (or less) than 10%. A probability calculation might also be done. It may also be important to study answers credibility-wise. For example, if someone says he answers 2 because this is the number that a random number generator, or a 10-sided die, gave him, such an answer should probably be considered as not credible.I don't think it makes sense to humor Michel with a guess if we don't even know what protocol he's following.

OK, I just did it. I wrote "The number is xx" (with 'xx' replaced by the actual number, of course).OMG! Michel! I was finally onto your transmission. You sent, "The number is" then your message was totally garbled when some wiseass overrode your signal with "80 D Collie Teal Strato-Cumulus".
Please resend.
But...what happened, Nay_Sayer? Are you talking like a computer now? in hexadecimal?[##]

I wrote down my phrase this time.
