Merged New telepathy test: which number did I write ?

Hi, I invite you to participate in a (new) simple telepathy test.

At about 22:23 on this Sunday June 1st (Brussels, Belgium time), I wrote carefully one of the ten numbers:
I have a very powerful psychic ability so this test is no problem for me. However my powers only work if I know the exact location of the item to remote view. You say that you live in Brussels, but it has an area of 161 square kilometers and is home to over 1 million people. If I have to mentally search every residence in Brussels to find your piece of paper it could take years, so...

Please provide the address where you are keeping the paper. Its location inside the residence (eg. "desk drawer in my office on the first floor") is not essential, but would save time.

Also you will need to keep the front door unlocked or a ground-floor window open, as my psychic spirit cannot enter a building which has been warded against it.

Finally, to focus my energy on your numerals it would help to have something similar which is of personal significance to you - your internet bank account number and password should be sufficient.

...
So, your answer should be a number between "1" and "10" (inclusive), or "I don't know".
...

Why not ask for a number between "1" and "2" (inclusive)?
To make it more interesting. For you .....

Merge happening in 3....2....1....

You know if it's one of those three, he'll count that as a hit and give you a sky-high credibility rating for your correct prediction on the merge.

Hehe, maybe. I did not even report the thread, I MUST have a high CR.

Of course, I did say that I don't trust his random number, so that might counteract the merge prediction, unless he did not like the current number and he chose one he likes. In that case, my CR has got to be astronomical.

In the previous test, I picked the target number myself, but I didn't say I used a random number generator in the opening post. In this test, I am using the number given by the generator ("whether I like it or not").

The opening post of this test is post #1495. Please, do participate!

Michel, please spell out in detail the protocol you intend to follow so people can properly evaluate it. And ensure you leave out any "Credibility Rating" nonsense. Otherwise, it's yet another unscientific waste of time.

Michel H,

I am not certain why you bother with this fairly complicated "test" that clearly will not convince others here. You seem to believe that your thoughts are broadcast to others. I think otherwise. Your "test" will not change my mind. Honestly do you think that it might change yours? Your last test here resulted in no one guessing your number, but you still thought the pattern was consistent with your belief.

I would suggest that you don't bother if the results would not change your mind or anyone else's. If you insist on the "test" then take the advice of others here to create a legitimate test and decide in advance what results would disprove or prove your theory. Then act accordingly.

I don't know.

Nobody knows, Michel. All everyone has ever done in your tests is make a guess at random. If you are forbidding random guesses in this latest test you will get no sincere participants.

I don't know.

There are also obvious problems with this 'test', such as that most people have a favourite number in the range 1 - 10 (the most popular being 7). As a result, it is likely that some numbers are more likely to suggest themselves than others, regardless of any purported telepathic influences. There are other similar problems of mental bias likely to affect number selection, such as the availability heuristicWP.

However, there would be little point trying to control for such issues (even if that was possible) in such a poorly designed test. This is a turd not worth polishing.

I don't know which number you've chosen - indeed nobody knows other than you. Anybody who guesses a number will just be guessing, because nobody hears your thoughts. Telepathy has never been demonstrated to exist, and this test will not do so.

I shall repeat this number from time to time during this test.

What measures do you take to prevent inadvertent transmission of other numbers during the test period?

How do you select channel 7 on your TV without thinking of the number 7?

What happens when you look at your watch and it says 12:34?

When the microwave prompts you to "Select Cooking Time" does your mind go blank?

If you have to apply a subjective value to credibility, the test is flawed and biased to improve results.
