New Rick Perry ad - He'll end Obama's war on religion

The man isn't a viable candidate and this is a last-ditch attempt to rally his "base" and garner some attention. He doesn't realize that he pretty much has no base. He may have his eye on a cabinet post under a more centrist administration.

Yeah, it does seem to be stating the obvious to point this stuff out. Then again, he is still in the race. Someone hasn't figured it out yet.

In my opinion, a great part of it is because we keep giving these idiots the attention they want. When Rick Perry started going on his rant about "not being so sure about Obama's Birth Certificate", there were the news covering this whole thing, and they there were interviewing him while he gave his ironic, stupid half-smile, and his typical "Well, maybe I was being serious about it. Maybe I wasn't. Lets just say I'm not fully convinced, blablabla". And likewise whenever he or Sarah Palin or any of these low life morons who have nothing better to do than scream out of their lungs for attention, there we are providing them the microphone and the speakers for them to spew all their insane, moronic crap.

The only weapon that has proven effective and lethal against any moron and any troll, throughout the history of mankind, is ignoring. Ignore the idiots who scream for attention.

(Note: I am not talking about this thread. I'm talking more broadly about the media coverage of these people)

Regardless of how moronic the guy seems, he will attract some followers. If he can keep the spotlight on himself for long enough, when he eventually throws his endorsement to a more mainstream candidate, he may get rewarded. My take on it anyway.

Stupid, but smart. But still stupid.

What a pandering idiot. Someone should ask this "good Christian" politician about his role in the execution of Cameron Todd Willingham (Google it). Yeah, Perry's a piece of work alright.

"Gays can serve openly in our military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school."

I despise Rick Perry.

Where are kids being denied 'celebrating Christmas'? And kids can pray in school all day long.

Yeah, because of the two groups, gays and Christians, it's the Christians who have fewer rights in this country!

Agree.

Well, there are all of those closeted Christians serving in congress. When will they ever be able to come out?!?!?

Daredelvis

Usually when they get caught doing the 'ol' widestance' in a men's restroom.

Funny you bring up Tebow in a thread like this...

I've been wondering for a while now what the reaction from people like Perry would be if instead of going to one knee uttering a quick prayer, he went to both facing east and uttered Allah hu Akbar...

A local conservative talk radio station here was discussing the Biblical verses on the eyeblack one day. Apparently EA Sports omitted the verses when they rendered the character for a video game. Naturally the talking heads were denouncing EA Sports for 'supressing' religious freedom. One guy called in and asked if the player had Koran verses on the eyeblack would they (the radio talking heads) feel the same or would they be applauding EA Sports. Their reply? "It's not the same; this is a Christian nation!". Of course.

Something about sins eroding the moral fabric of society, I guess.

I never understood why people (not you, just in general) talk about gays destroying the moral fabric of society.

Have you ever known a gay man to damage any kind of fabric?
